So I had no internet for a few hours, rang my ISP and this is what they told me - "We are currently winterproofing the network." Yes I kid you not. It's the 4th of December and the gobshytes are winterproofing the network. Now it might have made more sense if they did that back in October. But what exactly is winterproofing anyway? They did remove their sandals, shades & beach towels from the top of their WiFi masts?

You can't beat the claustrophobia of a U Boat for tension, although Das Boot is a long old film preferably in the English subtitles, it seems to work better. Another great submarine drama is the film U-571 about the attempts to get the enigma machine from the U Boats and one of the reasons the Germans nearly won the battle of the oceans.

TA that many people (not you) would be led to believe that U-571 was based on real events but is actually an insulting rewrite of history! Well-made film all the same though.

Yeah I know what you mean, it is Hollywooded a fair bit, the original story is British and based on the Royal Navy of course, the Americans couldn't resist. Matthew McConaughey and Harvey Keitel throw in a good performance on it though.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

We all need to chip in and get Colser a new laptop. She clearly needs one as she has been grumbling about this one all year!

Are you saying that she finds it odd that you want to know how her day is going or that you don't want to know?

I have a feeling that she just wasn't interested in you ...

Was actually just thinking about this recently - blocking on WhatsApp/Viber is more a symbolic move as opposed to anything practical, because the reason you have them as a contact on there is because you have them in your phonebook, so blocking you in-app does nothing, considering you still have their number ...

The crazy amount of people in Dublin city centre at the moment. Went on what would normally be a small errand and it took up my entire lunchbreak  Numerous TA's along the way too, like the huge queue in the bank meaning I had to cart around cash with me and spend the entire time in fear of being mugged.

Then there was the little old lady in front of me on the escalator who stopped dead at the top while she surveyed her surroundings. Obviously I wouldn't make my annoyance obvious in the case of an old woman trying to navigate a store but still. The people behind nearly ran up my árse!

Then coming back into work there were about five globs of sputum on the ground in the smokers area. Ran late and had to eat my lunch really fast and now about to enter a food coma.

The habit of describing any sort of scandal as "Example-gate".
(Yes I understand the origin of the term.)

    A bit of originality people!

Don't talk to me about hoorin' laptops. I detest the things, but Mrs. Goose loves the convenience of them. We currently have three in the house, one a two-week old Toshiba on Windows 10 that she bought lately and that's behaving itself thus far. The other is a five-year-old Sony Vaio that cost me €500 and now has a furked mainboard. The twelve-year-old HP Pavilion recently shat it's LCD screen out it's fan vent again, and I'm hornswoggled if I'm putting any more money into it. That cost me €1,150 back in 2005 or so. Did I mention I hated the cheap-ass, single-spindled, overheating little bastards? Well I do!

Oh what a rubbish day. I slept it out because the cat had me up at 5am. My boyfriend drove me to work so I have to get the train home.

There is someone really smelly on the train. They smell of smelly feet and farts. Ughhh I feel sick.

One of the kids kicked off on me in school today and that's annoyed me.

The wind has my hair looking bigger than usual.

A can of lemon exploded in my handbag and destroyed everything!! Bloody annoying.

And to top it all off, I didn't get paid again so I won't be paid for another 2 weeks!!! Arghhhhhh.

I need a bottle of wine and some chocolate.

The smell of crisps, esp tayto, or even worse, crisp breath off people who just ate some.

Toilets that flush automatically before you're even finished.

Im totally with Lady Goose. My phone is for calls and texts only, ipod for music and photos but the laptop ,couch and me are the best of buds and usually share a nice bottle of red with each other.:D

Im motoring again and just as I went to drive out the gate the biggest bird poop ever seen landed on the windscreen and the bonnet, honestly it must have been a flying fecking monster or something..a horse wouldnt manage it.

Chance a small fire and see how it goes, its Friday night so a fire is a must if youre not going out.

The vent in the kitchen is non stop rattling with the wind and beyond annoying.

My good runners bought for walking are lethal in the rain. I nearly went arse over tit on a drain cover, the fright! I wouldn't mind but they are actually runners for running, can you imagine?! If someone was chasing me, I'd kill myself...

Good evening all my TA friends.

Now I was in Galway for a few days R+R with my sister. Great times. Lovely place. OK.

When I got home today, I needed to go to the shop (bottle bank ha ha) hide the evidence. It's around the corner so I decided to walk. Had six bottles in the backpack. Very virtuous I felt lol.

But a gust of wind got me, and I lost my footing. I went down, no injuries but the embarrassment, and all the old biddies were on their way to the shops with their trollies, looking at me and the noise of the bottles when I fell.

I am p'd off, sorry TA'd that my wine drinking has been rumbled by the neighbours. Hate that! And I now have a sore knee from when I fell.

Feck it all, and there I was saving the planet by recycling. Does no one care at all?

I managed to order a pair of shoes in the wrong size, in order to return/exchange them I have to organise a collection by UPS. This is new to me and I have a great sense of foreboding about this one.

There is a courier related pestilence around us!

Turned up Ashes to Ashes on the radio a while ago, delighted. Then I realised it was Samantha Mumba Body to Body. FFS !!
