I love a nice bubbly. Snipes of Freixenet cava are perfect for when my husband would rather a beer. I couldn't handle a regular sized bottle alone!!

I saw a recipe recently for a cocktail that has prosecco, Grand Marnier and cranberry juice in it. Sounds delish.

What I love most about drinking at Christmas is that it's perfectly acceptable to have a mimosa on a weekday morning.

Have found a lovely new cider though, that comes in large bottle, like wine. It tastes like a good Prosecco so that will be my tipple for toasting this year

Putting up the tree last week I made mulled wine from scratch, the Jamie Oliver recipe. We have been doing that for a few years so it's now a tradition.

On Christmas eve it will be pint bottles of cider and then when I get home a Ron Zacappa XO rum or two before bed.

There are bubbles in our house on Christmas morning but I just can't stomach it that early so I will hold off till lunch time for a few more ciders.

Add to that lots and lots of sugary Barry's tea.

Whiskey and lots of it.

Have bought about five bottles specifically (to add to the base collection of ten or so bottles) so far and have a shopping list of a few more. Mix of good Irish and good Scotch as well as always having a decent Bourbon or two tucked away.

I've got some delicious coffee this year ordered from Hasbean.co.uk (http://www.hasbean.co.uk/collections/top-sellers/products/el-salvador-finca-argentina-estate-washed-bourbon) It's absolutely gorgeous. Expensive treat but worth it.

As for le alcohol, I've been a year brewing my own beer at home so I have a ruby red ale which I shall be sampling tonight... for science.. Yes... science. This will most likely be my session beer if you will.

I usually enjoy a nice glass of red wine with dinner but since I'm the only one who drinks red wine, it might get a bit dangerous. :pac: Might stick with white this year. We usually start of with Prosecco to go with our starters of salmon and home made brown bread.

I do also love Jameson, ginger ale and a slice of lemon over ice. De-lish.

Bailey's over ice is a perfect treat especially after a filling meal and serves to empty the stomach before the leftover sandwiches that evening with a cup of tea.

Processco with brunch, wine with dinner, port with cheese and maybe a small baileys at some point. It's my first Christmas in 5 years not being pregnant or breastfeeding so have some time to make up for!
