Are we living in a Matrix style computer game? What is life all about?

PC performance wise we can now hold in our hand a microchip with numerous times the power of a PC 30 years ago that would have needed a whole room to host.

So whats to say if Moore's Law is right and these computer chips keep getting more powerful that a future generation 500 years from now havent made an elaborate computer game and we're it?

Or are we the computer game fun for another intelligent species?

What is life all about in terms of how we exist? Have we a universe living inside of us? Are we our own God of this particular one? (I forget which religion believes that one)

    What's it all about?

Hi, often wondered that before, are we a Simms for some other creature's entertainment...
Yeah, I'm certain God exists, but not sure of it's true identity or purpose for creation.
Some think that before Creation/reality that God didn't experience, so created the material world to know and be known. Plausible!
Or maybe we need to accept Jesus or maybe not and to be in submission to Allah... or who knows.
I think the safest bet is on doing what makes your conscience comfortable.
We all have it so better to follow what that teaches you than the teachings of another person if they don't line up with your version of 'right' :)

It's a bit like brushing your teeth before your breakfast, the more you think about it, the more stupid the whole thing seems.

Well, f*ck it they might do a better job of running the planet than we have.

Well if we get to the point we can run a fully simulated universe then there's going to be more simulated universes than non simulated so odds are this one is indeed a simulation

OP you've figured it out. Add to that the lack of visible evidence of ETs, and it points to fact that the people running the Universe simulation only have enough RAM for us.

Note: If we find aliens, then that means the Universe has been upgraded and they've "imported" the alien civ from another saved game they have. My theory is sound.

From ghosts and psychics to computer games. This is what happens to your brain on drugs, kids.

Lack of drugs I'd say. It's always the straight edgers. Lash some mescaline into them. Be grand.

Would it really make any difference to us if this universe was a simulation or not? The only way we can exist *at all* is *as part of* this universe, whatever the true nature of it happens to be.

So long as the universe wasn't created with human beings *specifically* "in mind" (ie. so long as our coming into existence following the beginning of the universe was not preordained), I see no reason for us to feel that the answers to the deepest questions have any specific relevance to us, as creatures that incidentally evolved on one planet out of billions, and then only after 4 billion years of gradual, unpreordained evolution of life. If the earths history was represented by a 4.54 km timeline, the last 10 cm would represent the last 100,000 years of history (ie. that period of time when humans as we know them were a thing) - if the universe is indeed some matrix-type simulation, it isn't so *in order to be* spooky to us, or relevant to us in any specific way (as creatures which only arose after that length of time). The matter which contributes to sustaining our bodies over our lifetimes existed long before our conceptions and was tied up in other structures before then, so it wasn't there specifically for us .... ah, could ramble all day on this so i'll leave it there!

If this is a computer game, I find the main quest to be extremely repetitive and tedious.

Great vid, might watch it again myself.

Edit: Damn, that's not the video I watched. Definitely a better one out there.
