You can make your own with a piece of paper afaik

Never tried it...as I wouldn't trust anyone not to be moving the glass and knowing my luck I'd end up with some txt spk dope of a spirit

Though I have heard tales of people having a torrid time after playing it...but they were also very into expirmenting with a large variety of substances

Well hungry hungry hippos is made by the same toy company as this toy so I would give any spooky story just as much credence.

I remember some stupid bitch doing tarot cards on a PC, I was asking her about the mystical powers of the PC and if the brand of hard drive seemed to make a difference.

    Dont mess with them man.
Some things are just best left alone.
They arent fully understood and playing with one, if you can call it that, is really getting involved in dangerous stuff that could screw up your life. Skilled people with experience of connection to the beyond may look like they know what they are doing. But I still think they are taking big risks.
    Best just leave it.

Terrible things - stay away. These things ruined my life. All starts off well before going pear shaped.

Here's my story. I was once a successful property owner with properties in all the nice areas and even my own water works and a silver Rolls Royce. Then the more I played the more I got sucked in and lost it all. Even ended up doing a stint in jail at one point.

Or I might be confusing it with Monopoly

Skilled people with experience of scamming gullible people may look like they know what they are doing.

That's because they're practiced in the art of cold reading, suggestion, use of props etc. Doesn't make their "supernatural" tricks real.

Frauds are one thing. Those who can connect, however briefly, to the other side and with spirits caught in between, are another. Have your bit of fun with the messers if you want. But those who really are in contact with the dead a step ahead of them, but playing with fire if you ask me.

Eh no, they're just more convincing frauds than your average chancer. Plenty of people are good enough at this hokum to make serious amounts of cash from hoodwinking the vulnerable, some even have TV shows. None of it is real, none of them are in contact with the dead, all of them are immoral scam artists exploiting people's grief &/or credulity.

"Another"? what term do you use, super frauds? or if you do believe this shite would you not consider them complete fucking morons for not taking up the 1 million offer from James Randi?

If you want to take the risk of being possessed by a demon if you open a channel, then be my guest.
But again, best to just leave well enough alone what is not meant for this world.

I do take the risk of dabbling with demonic channels quite frequently -and Tubirdy has not possessed me into repeat viewing yet. Maybe it's the garlic in my Chinese takeaway.

Again, I am wondering why these people you believe do have supernatural powers have not claimed that 1 million pot. If I had such powers I would be collecting it next week.

Well you can make a toy version of anything (though whether that is wise thing to do or not is very questionable), but than doesnt mean the real thing doesnt exist.
    Which proves that point.

I have tried it a couple of times years back... no bad experiences,

a few friends were using a ouija board one night and they got freaked out, you are supposed to have a glass of water beside the board that you break if things get out of hand, and this makes the spirits clear off etc.

so one of the guys grabs the glass and runs out the front door and throws it onto the road, the glass bounced into the air and into the hedge and they couldn't find the glass. They became very paranoid for a while after this.

    Yeah that glass wanted revenge.

A child on my road dabbled with Mr Potato head, another toy from this sinister organisation, a year later he was dead. Hungry hungry hippos was also mentioned, another Hasbro abomination, loads of kids who died were deeply involved with it too.

I have no way of proving it but I don't believe anybody was moving it..

But that's the whole idea. If it never felt like it wasn't being moved by "something else" it would not have been so popular a game.

Surely what he 'told you' about himself was based on what questions people shouted.

As for proving it, you misunderstand me. You can prove a number of things as you can set it up for a repeat experiment by doing the same thing again. Asking the same questions, filming it bla bla bla, there is endless things you can do. Does it still work if you are all blindfolded? etc etc

But you let it win by adding the 'fear of the unknown' which is just allowing your own mind and lack of knowledge get the better of you over what is actually the still fascinating but ultimately "boring" reality of the situation. Your own subconscious.

Why would I want to talk to the dead? I've enough of a pain in me hole talking to the living people I know.

Is this where we summon the demonic spirits of banned posters?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43 New Ice Age

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks a piece of cardboard with some letters and numbers enables you to contact the dead is an idiot.

Will it work if I write the symbols on a piece of paper? Or does it have to cardboard and manufactured by a toy company? Does someone throw fairy dust on them in a factory so the spirits will come forth? If the board is in Japanese will only Japanese spirits try to come forward?

The languauge question is a fair one.

Guess it's not so scary if you call it a YesYes board.
