You're getting the Passat only on Tuesday? I thought you already had it.

Just having a read around here and a couple of other forums about the Focus ST170. I'm actually shocked at how bad on fuel people claim they are, with one owner even saying he would do well to see 350 miles on a tank and taking it easy that is.

I was hoping to bring an ST Fiesta 150 into the country next year but with the way the sterling has gone these past few weeks ( and its predicted that it won't improve for a long time to come ) it wouldn't be worth my while now at this stage.
Theres a fiesta ST 500 for sale on DoneDeal at the moment...

Who gets more then 350 miles to the tank on a performance car? Seems like unrealistic expectations based on the size of the car and therefore fuel tank?

I was supposed to get it this Tuesday but the eejit made a mistake with the registration documents which meant I could only get it re-reg'd tomorrow so half to take a half day off to the bemusement of the manager to get it on Tuesday next.

I was going to get an st170 when getting the focus. They were claiming circa 30mpg, which isn't bad. Then I realised that I needed a car for a lot of driving, so a performance petrol had to be parked there!

Quick question, when you see most car aerials have a standard connector then a 12v cable, do the stereos usually have a 12v connecter on the back or will the 12v power cable usually have to be run to the battery or somewhere else in the engine?

Tried to put my car reg into the MOT website but it didnt work (car was a UK import). Thinking I was doing something wrong, I typed in the reg of a random car thats for sale on donedeal that has UK plates.. http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/08-audi-a4-sline-2-0-tdi-143-bhp-s-line/10872013?offset=24

Ad claims that the car has 124k miles.. MOT website thinks different!
    MOT history of this vehicle
    Test date 10 July 2014
    Expiry date 9 July 2015
    Test Result Pass
    Odometer reading 157,757 miles

Aftermarket stereos almost always have a power antenna out cable on them. Only powered antennas would have 12v. Factory setup (which is rare enough unless it's amplified) wouldn't necessarily come from behind the stereo

Speaking of antennas (aerials in old money), you knew you were classy in the 80s / 90s when you had a radio antenna that would extend / decend as you turned the power on / off. That and having rear head rests made you a real man.

    Simple days.

Funnily enough the Audi is after being removed on donedeal.. Maybe he's following this thread? :D

Genuinely picked the car randomly from donedeal, seems he likes to fidgit around with the odometers so if the Passat is clocked too.

What do you mean? I haven't seen any bargains yet.

"Buy a full service kit and get 30% off oil" Pfft.

A lot of the online clothes shops have theirs up and running. Some up to 50 percent off. A lot of the websites are at full capacity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Proper black Friday is only in the states. With queues hours before opening time and chaotic stampedes the second the doors open to get 70-90% off. Nothing comes close anywhere else.

Ah ya but sure look, I'll still take 20, 30, 40 or 50 percent off quite happily.

I think I'll try to avoid the Internet tomorrow I don't want to buy a load of unnecessary crap but if there is something your looking for or need shoes and clothes it's definitely a good time to buy. I may finish getting Christmas presents too.

While I'm not a fan of the whole modified car scene I have to say that was a class video very good. I'd say it was some day out and the sound of some of them cars is unreal. It's great seeing so many people out for the day doing something they are very passionate about. I'd like to do an advanced driving course in mondello I think it would be a bit of fun but also useful. I think that will be chalked down to the many when I have started working activities list :)

I have a good few bits and piecess both so shouldn't need much more to have everyone sorted. We are doing secret Santa this year in college so that should be a laugh the presents and suppose to be funny but also useful. I got one of the girls so I have a few ideas for that :pac:
