Regrets... can you do anything about it?

No- then don't worry about it!
Yes- then don't worry about it!

I think though that reflecting on regrets can spur you on in the present though. "I didn't do that thing then so I'm just going to go for this thing now, no humming and hawwing" type thing.

If you love somebody set them free, unless she's your daughter and your Austrian

    Your Austrian what?

Working too hard is the biggest one.

My own Dad said it to me, wished he wasnt away most of the time.

I dont know how people do it, have kids then work 70+ hours a week.

Life is short enough as it is, 29,000 days from birth till 80!!!

Most of my regrets involve passing up on various opportunities to bed various women over the years, shallow creature that I am.

I regret not selling a heap of shares when I was sitting on a small fortune and instead watching it piss away while I waited for the bounce that never came.

To be honest I don't really regret anything that I've done, more so things that I haven't, shares and the women above, I should have travelled more. I probably should have partied less but I honestly couldn't say I regret doing that, I had a great time!

Looking back at trouble I've found myself in over the years (nothing major, the odd bit of fisticuffs, women trouble and stuff like that) I always saw it coming way in advance and for some reason didn't trust my instincts. I regret that it took me so long to learn to do that.

I couldn't keep something like that to myself, I'd have to tell someone that I loved them.

    That is so sweet.

Regret has re directed me to make ammends where I failed at empathy...it has been a great teacher.

It has flagged losses and pointed me in the direction of authentic desires and refocused on present and future enterprises.

So yay regret...a tough but worthwhile teacher.

Tell her. If she's worth loving then she's worth telling, even at this stage.

Thanks Candie. She's most definitely worth loving. She gave me one or three hints too bit at the time I knew I liked her but loved the friendship more and didn't want to ruin that. Sure who can you love if not your best friend.

I have a great boyfriend whos out but I'm not. Weve been going out almost a month and its been amazing. We've started meeting up at night now as I'm paranoid to be seen with him too often. He goes to a private school where theres a load of out people - I dont have that privilege! As a result I'm really falling behind in school and I fall asleep a lot during class :(
I know I'll regret not coming out, but I think it would just make my life hell. Im afraid of being completely ostracised, even a few teachers have made jabs at gay people.

Report those teachers straight away! That's horrible Matt. Good luck with things and come out at your own pace.

My only regret is that I never saved up and took a year off to go travelling.
There was always a reason not to and I was never optimistic enough to just do it.

I am lucky in that I have seen a lot of the world thru work, but it just not the same. Not by a long shot.

So if I had my time again, I would off with my backpack.

I suppose mine is not telling that friend I loved her. Years ago now but I sometimes think it would do me good to get it off my chest. :o

Biggest regrets and what you intend to do about it?

I've only been thinking about telling mine I love her( In that way ) and then I come on and read this. Disaster :pac:

I feel like my whole life is a disaster, I cant get a good job because of crippling anxiety but even if I didn't have anxiety there is no career I want to do or feel I'm capable of doing, I feel like my whole life is on hold till I have a stable job, getting very depressed now because I'm getting older. I hate waking up in the morning. I have regrets and will have major regrets if I can't sort myself out.

Not having done a J-1 when I was younger.

Spending most of my time at work or alone at home.

Always been single though I've managed to thoroughly embarrass myself in front of virtually every woman I've fancied save one who was an actual psychopath.

Well you come across as lovely on here, not even a hint of a tendency to embarrass yourself.

Plenty.....but hey-ho there's no point dwelling on them!

Meh! I genuinely don't give it much thought. I suppose I wasted too much time worrying and not having much self-belief or confidence which lead to some not-so-great decisions being taken but I had my fun regardless. At least I can say I never opted for the easy route in life. I'm happy with my lot now and that's all I can ask for. Ask me on a day when I'm in a crappy mood and I'll tell you something different ;)
