I think the world of my sister. She's attractive and absolutely hilarious. If she wasn't my sister I'd ask her out.

    And now for the filth..

I know it's wrong and God will punish me but twin sisters in porn is hot.

Sandra Romain and Alice Romain (not twins) made a movie called 'Romains Of The Day' but the production company, Brazzers, chickened out and won't release it. Damn them.

Otherwise though, incest is bad and down with that sort of thing.

I think The Backwards Man and The Sidewards Man did something similar.

They released some supporting stills and the trailer so some cheap thrills to be had! :pac:

Don't ever put his name so close to mine again.

    *getting personal*
I've been in a few villages in the midlands where everyone in the pub looked the same. And they didn't strike me as Mastermind material, either, sorry.

In island populations, certain traits may intensify while others fade out. Even so, there are always island stories of the man who married a woman from the mainland, or a seal-woman, etc - it is clearly a recurring preoccupation.
It also explains why simple societies set great store by family history and genealogy onto the umth generation; Some can recite the names of all their ancestors for generations back.
It is so that potential too-close pairings can be avoided.
Even now, the use of surnames, "patronymics" and the Jimín-Mháire-Thadhg type of nicknaming, helps to identify those with common ancestors; so we can see how urgent the interest in this issue continues to be.

Thankfully I am appropriately creeped out by this thread... I'm into some weird questionable sh*t, but thankfully not this particular flavour of strange! :D

Thanks to incest we get programs like the Jeremy Kyle show, a lot of the people on it look like the inbred people from the episode 'home' of the X Files.

This thread reminds me of that time I clicked on a random forum on Reddit. This place is gone to the dogs.

Social welfare is to blame also.

OP has a sexy cousin that he/she wants to bang. Is that it?

How does Iceland or more pertinently those South Pacific islands deal with this sort of thing?
There's an app for that...in Iceland anyway, where you can check how related you are before lobbing it in there. Slightly related fact, Iceland plundered Ireland for our women back in Viking times!

Aside from the genetic issues, which often are accumulative over a number a generations, I'd regard many of these relationships as unhealthy. There is generally a power imbalance (especially between parent and offspring, but even between siblings) and the potential for abuse.

Well, cousins aren't quite so near in as siblings. Unless some of the parents were cousins too (which is also possible...)

But let us not forget, a lot goes on behind the scenes, and not always between the traditional sheets: you may not be so closely related to someone as you think you are... ;-)

And in polygamous societies, the half-sister, half-brother thing must add a whole extra layer of complexity. Half-cousins?

When I first moved here, I had a full physical to qualify for my health insurance policy. Got to chatting with the doc and when he discovered my partner is Irish (I am not) he declared "oh, thank goodness - we need to widen the gene pool here!" I wasn't too sure what to say to that!

    Form an orderly queue?

Take a look at Pitcairn Island as an eg. Decades of inbreeding occurred, not good, not good at all.

+1 that the op wants to ride the relative, using this thread as a gauge of general public opinion, "it's quite common around these parts for cousins to marry"
What's stopping ye? I'd say it's the ma telling you yisser babies will be born a pigs tail/cloven hooves etc.

So anyway op, this cousin of yours hot or wha'???

This is a topic I think about regularly, and I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand the idea of someone being in a sexual relationship with their cousin disgusts me, but on the other hand, me being from Mayo (it seems to be more common here than elsewhere), I've seen several such relationships being very successful and wonder if there really is anything wrong with incestuous relationships.

What does AH think? Would you give it a go?
I don't know if anyone, apart from people who have no boundaries/are living in communities where there's not much education on the matter, would just give it a go for the sake of it.
If I fell in love/lust with a relative (thankfully that hasn't happened! But if it was a relative I'm only meeting for the first time) I wouldn't like that he's a relative but you can't control how you feel. The preference of course would be for that scenario not to arise. :)
Consenting adults who are related and having sex... not the ideal but I guess you can't stop them and they're not inflicting anything directly on others (it being illegal won't stop them). It would be irresponsible of them to have children though.

What I think of incest is: not good, but not always deserving of punishment either.

Oh my god, I was watching a documentary about Larry Murphy and that place looks... *banjo music*
Was thinking that was weird - it's so close to Dublin. But then again, Rathdrum...

It's legal to marry your first cousin in Ireland. I know a married couple who are cousins.

Personally I'd never do it and think incest is vile.

I feel extremely sorry for siblings separated at birth who end up in a relationship in later life. It's very rare but I feel very sorry for them

I know a married couple who are cousins too , they have one adult son who tried to lob it into one of his cousins .

Jeremy Kyle/ Deliverance style mash up , the resulting drunken punch up ended up with the Garda being called .
