Saying only Asians can cook rice correctly is stupid not racist. Also Arabs, Africans & Hispanics might disagree.:pac:

Was the lady at the bank still engaging in a transaction or just dithering around afterwards? Did her transaction take 20mins or does that include other people before her??

But yeah -- no one really understands the word racist any more.
    Who said anything about rice??

Another time i was called a Racist by a staff member in a bank because she was speaking Irish to someone at the counter and i needed to pay my rent and get back to college i said to them Jesus take your time after being in the line for 20 mins.

You should have asked for the manager immediately.

I hate racism, so I would hate to be wrongly accused of it.

What I want to know is whether she call you a racist in Irish or 'as Béarla'. And did the fact that the Irish language was part of the situation make it worse?

Were are being driven so much by the PC brigade that we cant say anything or stick up for ourselves.

Meanwhile we have the aggressive likes of IS on an active recruitment drive to gain and win new members.

Meanwhile, here we have a father go on the websummit ( no idea why) about his child not getting into a Catholic school. Go figure.

Over the last few months i have seen people going very PC on anything out there that you might say about anything. I have been called a Racist about 4 times in the last few months when i give my views on something stupid like food. I said only Asian People can cook Asian food right and i get called a Racist for that ?.

Another time i was called a Racist by a staff member in a bank because she was speaking Irish to someone at the counter and i needed to pay my rent and get back to college i said to them Jesus take your time after being in the line for 20 mins. .

Loads of stuff like this has gone nuts lately you can say anything this is not rated PG with out being insulted and brought up on it.

South Park this season has been fantastic for pin pointing what is wrong with the world. As this week as the story was that if you wont to have sex with a girl without it being rape its that you need to get them to sign a contact before hand ?. How long before something stupid like that comes in here ?.

Only a total racist would put full stops after question marks and exclamation marks.

Not that I know of, But I don't know, they might be in the countries they are present in. Dont think they would be fans of it.

look its just a bunch of dimwits, wouldn't worry about it. pc doesn't exist so you have nothing to worry about. if your not a racist you have nothing to worry about its only those who are racists who need to (rightly) worry

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Words like that thrown around lightly lose their meaning.

The current season of South Park is one of the best and most socially relevant they've ever produced. And you're absolutely right, this stuff is going way too far.

The most recent episode (not aired in Ireland yet but you can VPN it on their own website) is hilarious, it's about what happens when PC bro tries to accuse someone of being abelist, before finding out that the person mocking the disabled is actually Jimmy ;)

I was called a racist for saying I don't like Chinese food. Even though I explained it's because of all the msg's and sugar. Still this dope wasn't having any of it.

There's some fairly PC **** around but I tend to just roll my eyes and move on with my life. Then there's the people who claim anything that is different is too PC. Look at the Starbucks cups. People were losing their **** because Starbucks cups don't have snowflakes. In the end, there are a lot of idiots in this world, those who try to make everything PC and those who think everything that changes is becoming too PC. Much like racist, it gets over used and it allows actual racists to hide behind it.

Like to racism and the likes i have dealed with it 1st had growing up and still do even if i am 1/2 Irish on my mother side but because i have a foreign name people still think its funny to insult it and start doing a fake Italian accasnt to me.

When i was a child my mother used to bring in Parma ham and the likes and give it to us in his homemade Italian beard for lunch this is going back 17 years ago and kids would not talk to me because of this, That i was eating Natlia before it came big in Ireland i used to have kids telling that i am eating Italian **** as i am Italian ****.

There a few years ago my sister brought her ex boyfriend home to met my mother and father and he turned around and said wait for it to the father are you in the Mafia ?. Now that is racist.

I could go on for pages with all the things that was said to me growing up in my small country town that i am from and they wonder why i hate nearly everyone in it ?.

Just a bunch of backwater hayseeds. I went to a rural primary school myself and was always astounded at how ignorant everybody was.

I don't think I've ever been called a racist. If four people told me that I was a racist, in a short time, I'd wonder if I was a racist.

Wow that's crazy. Although msg is just something that forms on seaweed naturally. Tomatoes and mushrooms are also high in it.

It's actually one of the most commonly found amino acids in nature.

People seriously need to comprehend the term racist. A racist comment/opinion is when one person claims that one race is genetically inferior to another. Examples would be Hitler and the Jews and the Confederates and the African slaves. Just watch your damn micro-aggressions on this thread, bro!

Joe, why is it politically correct? Politics has gotvery little correct
    in ages.

Racism is discrimination based on "race".

It is neither positive nor negative inherently. There can be racism that is useful and racism that is harmful.

No. You're not differentiating the geno-type (race) from the pheno-type (culture).
What you're referring to seems to be national stereo-types, i.e. Irish people drink too much and Japanese people are good at math.

He's absolutely right, but I don't think the "Things are too PC" stuff is always just annoyance at being considerate towards people, there is genuinely some ludicrous offence-taking at times. Mostly just internet soapboxing though, it's not reflective of day-to-day life.

We're not in fairness. We can say plenty of things and stick up for ourselves.

What do you mean? Can people not be concerned about both? While part of me thinks you should expect children baptised catholic to get first preference for a catholic school, it also raises the concern of the catholic church having such a monopoly on primary and secondary educational facilities.

I don't think the world is pc mad. For starters, the PC mindset only affects affluent areas of the western world where we have little to worry about in our lives. Most of the world don't have time for it.

Even at that, Ireland certainly doesn't seem to be too PC. We do seem to be able to speak our minds quite freely and the nonsense from US campuses doesn't seem to have taken hold here.

It might be because we never, as a nation, oppressed brown people and don't have the white guilt that they do in the US and UK. I'm not sure, really. It could be because we are sceptical about being told how to think, for historical reasons. Even here, we have a few borderline PC Poes who noone takes seriously.

I don't know. Irish people are quite liberal but I think we can smell bullsh*t better than the USianns and Brits.

    We are to be fair.
Do you remember the mayor of Naas who had to quit? He said he didnt want to deal with a group of africans due to aggresive behaviour.
It was given from a culture where being aggresive to get limited resources is the norm, but he was called racist.

We cant criticise the likes of IS because, sure there only a small bunch, nothing to worry about.

We cant say anything about travellers cause you know, great bunch.

Cant say anything really to anyone cause they can throw race or bigatry at it and we back down.
