Someone should have a word, dont be barking at police dogs.

That said, the suggested jail time (can be up to 7 years) is for the birds. Nothing will come of it.

Note, this not a federal law, it's a state law. Crazy law in a crazy state!

He was obviously just amped up before the game, was probably just playing around. Seven years in jail? The cops "immediately launching a criminal investigation" must have very little to be investigating at the moment.

I did say 7 years is for the birds, and that nothing will come of it.

That said, it's not news to anyone that in the US you don't talk back or get lippy with the cops. Really.

Anyway, storm in a teacup. It'll go away soon enough.

Andrew Luck out for 2-6 weeks with a torn abdominal muscle and lacerated kidney suffered in a 4th quarter hit he took on Sunday night. Not surprising he's getting such injuries with how poorly his Oline has been protecting him this season.

I wouldn't be exclusively blaming the O line for that. The Pats O line has been wiped out this season and Brady's playing better than ever. Luck has played some crap this season, panics too easily when pressured and he doesn't get rid of the ball quick enough. And if he didn't do that all that, he wouldn't be missing the next few weeks through injury imo.

tad unfair to compare anyone to brady in fairness your talking about likely the greatest qb of all time at this stage and one of his best assets is his quick read/release.

i think luck has been very hard done by he's not had a good team put around him at any stage if they get rid of grigson and bring in a good talent evaluator that could do wonders for the colts

I agree with you, but my comparison between the two was unintentional. To be clearer, there comes a point where a QB needs to make his own adjustments if the O line is problematic and Luck hasn't done that. He's 4 years in the league now and he should be copping that imo. Grigson is a muppet, he was behind a lot of that nonsense we witnessed since last February and Karma has come back to bite him. The Colts would be much better off by giving him the boot. The Colts passing up on the chance to draft Malcolm Brown last May was classic. I mean how did they not know he had Belichick player written all over him. And as you said, they do need to bring in a proper talent evaluator asap.

Was this not something in the pipeline that the Raiders knew when they signed him, reading that it is and that they are happy enough to standby him during the suspension. He has been very good with Mack pressuring the QB.

It's related to his arrest earlier this season from when the 49ers cut him. The Raiders should have known it was coming for sure. He'll be suspended for 1 year but he'll then have to apply for reinstatement.

He's a Free Agent after this year so he'll be free to negotiate with any team once he is reinstated. (Assuming he doesn't get in trouble again but I wouldn't bank on that).

He's been great for the Raiders though, looks like he will resign with them next season just going on the verbals today. If they can get his head right he's a beast.

He'll have to jump through all sorts of hoops in order to get reinstated next season and will need to stay clean for a full 12 months. I wouldn't assume anything about him playing next season.

He still doesn't seem to accept that he did anything wrong or that his attitude needs to change, still seems to be rolling out the same excuses. I'd be surprised to see him back playing next season, or indeed at all.

I disagree, he's definitely played well this season and looks like he's enjoying it again so I think he will come back next season. Also he'll be 12 months clean next May or June apparently whenever he check out of Rehab the last time.

He's definitely a loose cannon but he's a talent and if the Raiders can keep his head straight they'll have a serious weapon on the cheap for at least a year or two. Before he gets a big contract.

Well he was arrested in August so he is not clean since May or June.

He still is blaming everyone but himself, and when (not if) he gets arrested again he will get an indefinite suspension.

He apparently "lost the love of the game". Presumably this just came back all of a sudden when the Raiders picked him up. He was obviously drinking around August time (during training camp) so I'd be very surprised if he was suddenly clean now and was going to stay that way for another 12 months.

Fair enough if you buy his statement at face value, I don't, I've read it all before, almost word for word.

Meh, variation of everything we heard from training camp and he threw all that away.

Mind you I think the NFL suspension policy for this kind of thing is completely stupid but there you go.

I personally find the idea of banning a player from training and **** counter productive, they don't need more time to themselves to get into trouble

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,626 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

He got a pass to train with the 49ers during his last suspension for that very reason. In this case though he is going to be a free agent after the season so that doesn't make much sense in this case.

Also the fact that he keeps getting in trouble means the league is running out of patience with him. (5 arrests in less than 4 years).

Yeah look I know you've seen it before being a 49ers fan, I got my dates mixed up but he went into rehab after the August arrest and is apparently clean since then.

Most sacks in NFL history in his first two seasons, he'll definitely get an opportunity, the question is can he get his head right. Lots of them cant sort it out. Pity if he doesn't he has supreme talent. Also to be fair his last two arrests look like someone who's definitely on the edge of crazy.

He has about as much chance of getting his head on straight and keeping in the clear for the next 12 months as I have of being built like JJ Watt by next year. Sadly, he is a legitimate no hoper and his career is now over.

Rob Ryan ran outta New orleans finally

Can't blame it entirely on him. Not much talent on that defence and he was only responsible for the front and Allen looked after the defensive backs. He was also asked to tone down his play book as it was too expansive.

I think he's a overrated DC but you can't hang 100% of the mess in New Orleans on him.

Look forward to seeing you lining out for some NFL team next year then :):D:D:D

I don't think his career is over personally. He's too talented and will get the backing from the Raiders. If he gets help to address the drink problem he could turn it all around. Jared Allen had problems early in his career but sorted himself out.

He's had plenty of "help". He's also got plenty of people telling him how talented he is and how badly he's been treated.

What he needs to do is to admit to himself he has a problem and take responsibility for his own actions and stop blaming everyone else. If he does that he has a chance but if he doesn't we'll just be back here having the same discussion in a few months time.

He can have all the talent in the world but if he can't recognize that he is the one causing himself all these issues then it is going to keep happening to him.

I'd like to think he will be back as good as ever and stay out of trouble for the next year but he hasn't managed to do that so far so I guess its a case of wait and see.

How you feeling about the match up this weekend? I thought Gabbert did ok against the Hawks and played well in the first half and the defence really stood up. If the defence gets it right again they might end the Seahawks chances of a playoff spot
