WALK hold a winter wonderland in Driminagh Castle in December. It's a great day out and really gets you in the christmas spirit

Smithfield sounds great , can't wait for outdoor concert , that will be great. Is it a change from previous years that Grafton street lights going on , on a Sunday , and Henry street the Thursday ?I know I've been into Henry St , on Sundays for the last couple of years and always miss Grafton Street because it on a Thursday.

Grafton Street has definitely been on a Thursday before anyway.

Wish we did more stuff down in Cork, they have the markets but it's sort of the same every year and not very big

I got very excited when I saw this but then I saw how much it costs. I can't figure out if you get anything apart from a seat for the price of a ticket or if you can just go there for a drink and stand for free!

Really looking forward to the I Believe In Christmas Event now.

It's just a pity that the Santa experience is a 'group visit.' Pay €5 for each adult and €15 for each child and your child can, along with 29 other children and their parents see Santa from a distance and write him a letter instead of telling him what you want. As a souvenir you get a bell and a photo of Santa, your child and 29 strangers. Awesome!

Tbf, it would be nice as a class/playgroup outing (albeit expensive) but you'll still end up needing to see a different Santa for a family only visit. It's a pity as it would be lovely to do the whole market/tree/Santa experience at once like that.

As much as I want to look forward to I Believe, the more I hear about it the more I think it's going to be as expensive and rubbish as previous Christmas events. :( My husband works fairly close to it so I'll be sending him over for a look first, but between how expensive it is to book a table in their bar and the group Santa visits it doesn't look great so far. :(

Seems a bit "corporate" for want of a better word. I suppose they do need things that are bookable and prepaid to generate a bit of definite income.
I'm looking forward to visiting it. Great to see stuff happening.

It's always a wonderful evening, in a gorgeous setting... really kicks it all off, although it's at least a week later than usual this year...

Is smiling your favourite? Don’t be a cotton-headed ninnymoggins at home on your own! Come out and hang with Buddy on 1 December for a larf and a cool yule screening of Elf in The Sugar Club, Dublin.

Santa is also coming, SAAAAAAAAANNNTA, do you know him? We know him. If you're coming you can expect to sit on Santa's knee, eat the elves' four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup. Decorate your own ginger bread, drink syrup cocktails, play make-and-do with your own Xmas decorations, and perhaps even hold hands or snuggle all while watching your favourite Elf.

Santa is arriving in Arnotts on Saturday

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

He's arriving in Blanch too. He certainly gets around. ;)

Arnotts has a great system. You don't have to queue. You're notified (by text I think) when it's your turn to go to Santa so you can browse the shop rather than trying to keep the kids entertained in a queue.

He's a busy man because he's arriving in the white water this Saturday too :)

Not familiar with this event but I seen it advertised on Facebook just now.

Just read on The Mirrors FB page that this has been cancelled due to residents not agreeing. Looking for a new location

Says on their own Facebook page that they are finalising details on a new location so hopefully they can annoucen it soon. I guess they were trying to keep the venue change quiet until it was all sorted.

Heading to this in December. I love A Christmas Carol. It'll be interesting to see what it's like acted out in such an intimate venue.
