If there was a "Greg Hardy" rugby player, would any team sign him? I'd like to think not.

Ha! I don't think even Saracens would tbh.

As usual if you're talented enough at your job you can 'get away' with a lot in your personal life. Ray Rice still hasn't been brought back by anyone.

On my way home with new steam link to play Witcher 3 on the 52 inch TV. Let's be having ye!

Let me know how it is. I'm on the fence about it. Do you need to use a steam controller? Or could you plug in a usb xbox controller?

The Witcher 3 has tiny text... you have to sit kinda close regardless. No mods to fix it either.

The major thing is your wifi router. I splashed 200e on a d-link dual band 900mbs recently and in home streaming through steam is flawless which was the final decider for me.

I'll be using Xbox 360 wireless controllers which work fine. Xbox1 controller apparently is win 10 only and works with virtually nothing else. You don't need a steam controller.

Would PowerLine adaptors not make more sense than that kind of setup?

Damn you Venjur, I clicked the link genuinely believing there was gonna be something proportionate and useful in the 100-125e bracket so I could outsource the opportunity cost of buying a graphics card to someone else, but no.

Can't be bothered with PC gaming. Just play on xbox.

I never had a console as a kid, so I am pretty good at shooters with a keyboard and mouse, and completely useless with analog sticks. I don't think I could handle going back to being crap.

I'm starting to think about my xmas shopping and since I hate going into town to do the shopping I'm looking online. I found this site recently and thought some of ye might find it useful.
It compares the price of items on all the european Amazon stores so you can find the one that has the cheapest price

Sorry about that but it's an amazing card. Only advice I can give is try and go 980 and I rarely go wrong with ASUS as manufacturer.

So I got tired of waiting for the official UK release of the Nvidia Shield TV in the UK, and Venjur today made me jealous so I ordered a Steam Link. Now I realise it's not going to be delivered for ages but not only that, the shield is out now in the UK and I forgot to check before purchasing. Silly me.

Dunno, never tried them but the router streams perfectly. So far have played Street Fighter, Rocket League (online), Witcher 3 and Lego Movie the videogame and all are 100% seamless, feels like playing straight off the PC.

Happily recommend, it's a great way to bring PC gaming back to the TV and with a 52" HD setup it's just amazing tbh.

I use a powerline adapter in my place and it's extremely reliable. It's a TP Link as linked to above. They used to be quite dodgy but for the past few years they've been excellent. Better quality connection than most wifi routers (certainly any 2.4g ones)

Hmmm. Is that the opposite of what the steam link is doing?

I want to be excited for Battlefront but ive been playing the series since the first one and the main thing i loved about them was the space battles. Excluding them entirely is criminal and surface level dogfights are not a fair alternative.

I imagine it will only serve as a reminder of how much I loved Battlefront 2 and send me down a slightly frustrating nostalgic road. The same way Battlefield will never make a game like Battlefield 1942 again. A game where you could depth charge your mate's submarine from your destroyer, use the torpedo bombing variant of the fighter bomber to take out a battleship, or just sit with a sniper rifle at the top of hill taking out the gunners sitting in the turret of Battle Tanks. What a game.

Has anyone ever bought something from Amazon Germany? Does it get stopped for duty or anything?

Seriously thinking of buying a tablet from them as the savings are over €100.

Nope. European union, so once they'll ship to Ireland you're all clear. Even if they won't use parcel wizard or parcel motel and you're all gravy.

I bought a pair of headphones from Amazon France, about €100, about a month ago and had no issues. The headphones were actually shipped from the UK. I could be wrong on this but I think stamp duty only applies on items outside the EU

If anyone hasn't heard about this it's DPDs alternative to Parcel motel and is new so they are giving 3 free deliveries between now and the end of December for new people who sign up.

Yea they can ship from anywhere no matter what store you use. I bought a pair of gaming headphones a month or two ago from Amazon UK and they shipped from France. No customs charges from within the EU.

The key difference is they ship to your door instead of to a locker. Which is equally advantageous and disadvantageous depending on your circumstances.

Bgud, will they ship products of any size? Parcel motel for instance wouldn't be useful for buying a TV, would these guys?

Parcel motel will take big parcels, I think you just have to go collect it yourself or arrange (and pay for) a delivery.

Parcel Motel also delivery to homes now as well for all parcels (but you have to pay extra).

These are good developments. I haven't used it in about a year. They used to be able to guarantee it would be two days from warehouse to locker, but then it started taking 4, and I am a really impatient person. They also lost something I ordered.

I think they've got a lot better. I've used them a few times in recent months and the parcel is usually in my locker the same day as when they receive it in Belfast.
