A large part of my career involves meeting high net worth individuals who are looking to use our wealth management services. Therefore being well groomed is vital as appearances are very important. No neckbeards, facial piercings or unibrow.

I'll use a face scrub to exfoliatite and prepare the skin for shaving. Then I use Mitchells Wool Fat soap and a badger hair brush to work up a thick lather. Two passes with a Merkur double-edged razor. Rinse the skin with tepid water then follow up with Proraso post shave cream (unbelievable product). 15 minutes later I'll follow it up with a light matte day moisturiser.

Simple but effective grooming regime that ensures I look my very best.

Aongus may I ask - have you thought to monetize your posts?

You'd make a fortune from product placement! ;)

I haven't paid for a haircut in ages. I donate my hair to charity every couple of years and I don't touch it in between! Pure laziness more than anything else. :)

    Wash with soap.
    Shave neck if need be.
    Trim beard if need be.
    Done.

I only get my hair done every 6 months. Really should get it cut more often, it's always in bad enough condition by the end of the 6 months. Luckily I only need to get highlights every 6 months also, my hair is very fair anyway and my roots don't show. So it's very cheap to take care of seeing as I always go to the cheapest hairdressers. It's not too difficult to mess up half a head of blonde highlights on already blonde-ish hair! So therefore don't see the point in paying loads of money at a top salon.

Don't really use exfoliators on my face or anything like that. They seem pointless for me anyway, my skin looks the same (or worse!) if I use them. I just take my makeup off with Nivea cleanser and that's it. Although I have been using Rose Hip oil at night recently which I love! Makes my skin very soft.

I hate hairdressers and only go when I have to. I don't put anything on my skin only eight hour cream or maybe an oil too. I think that women who are going grey need to get their hair done more often so I'm laying off till that happens.
I was thinking I might give up make up for a while and wear tracksuit pants more often. Just as long as I'm clean who cares about anything else.

Hair is annoying, people spend all their time trying to get rid of it then when it falls out they start bitching :pac:

You've inspired to considering getting some hightlights. Like you my hair is quite blonde already, so it'd just be a few to pick it up. Getting a few greys now, so maybe I should consider it. Are your highlights grand even if they aren't the snazzy ones?

All highlights are the same. There's no difference only between plastic or foil and the dyes.

Well I'm talking about the quality of the dye and the person doing it - there's a difference in quality of haircuts depending on price.

Not really. You're paying in Peter Mark's for the surroundings cos I know someone who worked there. I've got my hair done there and in cheap places and you'd be surprised by the quality of some of them.

I started going grey in my early twenties. About two years ago I got highlights. It was a mistake. My dark brown hair is no longer dark brown because I can't afford the maintainance. My roots would be far too obvious. If any of you ladies know of a reasonably priced hairdresser in the Dublin area who will solve my colour problems feel free to PM me :)

I've never done my own colour before. I know it's ridiculous but I'm worried I'll mess it up.

Have a look at the deal sites, and also give your local salons a call to see if they have classes that they require models for - you can get your hair done on the cheap pretty easily. The thing about being a model, is that the hairdresser is being supervised pretty intensely so you won't end up with blue hair - unless you want blue hair!

Doing it yourself is grand on all accounts dye and cut.. Think it was around 7 - 8 years ago was the last trip to the hairdressers. paid something close to €90 for dye and a cut. The dye ran out of my hair all week and just washed out and the cut was just a reg cut.

Since then tis wash hair, comb, turn upside down and chop away.. sorted There are great videos on you tube for doing layers..

Hair dye you cant go wrong with Persepoly honest, there isn't much now you can do bar maybe dye the sides a little brighter than the rest but that cools down after a few days. Done it all from leaving it in too long as in going to bed with it in, to using dye a few years old and tis grand like.

Id normally use the Live Schwarzkopf colour vibrant ones and they are great. Was told the Schwarzkopf is a great brand and in fairness it stays in a good while... Use it every few months and it aint pretty on dye night, it looks like I have massacred a few chickens red dye all over the shop, but it cleans up.

Tis a shame they brought out this foam dye in a few brands but it seems to have stopped now. That stuff was the tits, you could not go wrong with it and very less messy

Yeh I always thought those nice and easy type dyes were supposed to be bery good for darker hair.

I'd love to have that lovely shiny dark hair that all brunettes seem to have, but I look absolutely ridiculous with dark hair.

Thanks for the tips ladies. I'm weird when it comes to my hair. Do you think I'd be ok putting in a colour myself even though I have highlights? They are pretty faded now and it's really only pieces of hair on the right side of my head.

See I want an all over chocolatey brown colour but I'm not sure it would work because of the blonde bits.

I helped my friend put in a Schwarzkopf red one, the place looked like we'd had some kind of Voodoo ritual going. I'm glad it was her place, not mine!

Use old towels for your first time home dying Persepoly, just in case. :)

I use the blonde root cover up one in between highlights which isn't bad. In saying that I'm not that blonde though.

I've tried the home dyes on my blonde hair only to end up with a hair colour matching bozo the clowns. Never again would I do it. I think the home dyes are better for the darker hair tones.

Go to an inexpensive salon and ask to get roots done. It's not highlights, they just match the base to the rest of it. It's faster. As I was just saying the Nice n Easy do all shades if you try that first. It's a blue brush that dyes the roots.
