Yeah, beast mode was invented that night. They got beaten handily by Chicago in the next round.

The 7-9 Saints did win a wildcard game away to the Seahawks

Once the playoffs come round anything can happen

they did and then lost in the next round they needed 4 miracle games in a row if they wanted to win the Super Bowl it was never really on.

Admittedly I haven't seen a lot of him, but from what I have seen of him this year I completely agree with them on Greg Robinson. His lack of progression or even regression must be a big worry for the Rams, especially when you see how well Jake Matthews has progressed this year.

I am amazed that the Colts' OL is ranked 13th in the NFL.

Also, fair play to what the offensive co-ordinator has done in Carolina. Seriously impressive.

Marshawn Lynch is averaging 3.6 YPC despite only averaging 1.18 yards before contact this season, which ranks 50th out of 52 players.

Two ways of interpreting that stat.

    - if the OL ever get their run blocking sorted, Lynch and RW are going to carve open defences.
    - if RW and Lynch stop producing big runs to get 1st downs like they have been doing the last few weeks, the Seahawks are toast.

Actually that could make more sense - he is from Texas and went to school there, too; Baylor is actually only a little south of Dallas too (by US standards), and at 26 by next season he could sit behind Romo for a year or even two and still have plenty of time in him if he did show to be up to having a crack at the starting spot in 2017 or 2018.

Kaepernick is a little older than I thought, today is his 28th birthday (what a birthday present - getting benched, ha!). My guess is the QB desperate teams get in a low-stakes bidding war for him over the spring, can't see him bringing in at absolute best a 2016 3rd, a 2017 6th/7th and a 2017 conditional to be honest, but more likely just a 2016 4th and a 2017 conditional or something like that. If he gets any say in it though, I just think St. Louis would be the best fit for him and while I doubt he would set the league alight there he and Gurley could form the basis of a pretty solid power offense to compliment that defense of theirs.

I've a feeling he'll end up at the Eagles. They could do with a mobile QB and need to move on from the Sam Bradford disaster. Seems like a good fit.

You could look at it that way.

Interestingly though the Seahawks have one of the easiest Schedules left they should at least go 6-2 but are far more likely to go 7-1 or even 8-0.

8-0 wins the Division and they'll again be among the favourites for the Super Bowl.

Bradford is a far better QB that Kaepernick, he's going nowhere, time will be an improver for Bradford. I think the Bye week came at the right time for the Eagles, expect them to kick on and win the Division.

The last five years weren't enough time for Bradford, I'm not sure how much more time he has. Kaepernick has his ceiling but we've all seen him play better than he is at the moment. The 9ers are such a disaster right now that it's really hard to tell who is really at fault, but my money is very much on the coaches and GM, who seem to be sabotaging the team, fostering animosities in the locker room and undermining the confidence of their players.

The whole thing sounds like Trestman's Bears last year, right down to the decision to scapegoat the QB and bring in his backup (Gabbert and Clausen even have really, really similar stats to each other). So I'd be slow to condemn Kaepernick until I saw him with another team.

Bradford has missed two seasons with injury and has moved to a completely different system.

I get what your saying about Kaepernick he has played at a high level on occasion but I would want my team in the hands of a Bradford before Kaep. Just my own opinion.

I think Chip Kelly is partially at fault for Bradford's struggles this season not totally mind you he has made some terrible throws but Chip seems intent on focusing on a run game and actually at times the whole game plan seems to be a mess.

The Eagles are another team though that should win their crappy division if they can just get some consistency

can i ask the dallas fans on here if they really believe jerry jones when he says greg hardy is a leader in the locker room? also are you actually happy that he is on your team?

i only ask because i was under the impression people where dismissing what jones said but on the link below theres an expert from a dallas radio station talking to a philly reporter before the game on sat and they seem to genuinely believe he's a valuable part of the locker room and that guys like him are how you build a championship team it seems crazy to me.

also heres a jimmy fallon cowboys v eagles superlatives to get you in the mood for the most important game between irrelevant teams in the league

Morons usually crown their loudest as king.

I've no doubt Hardy is vocal and that the younger wannabe-gangbanger idiots whose every other word is "bruh" or "mayne" on the team look up to him. I guess that makes him a leader of sorts, just not necessarily the one you want off the field.

Greg Hardy must be one hell of a leader, because this is absolutely shocking stuff, makes Ray Rice look like Winnie the ****ing Pooh. The NFL absolutely ****ing sickens me sometimes.

Best move the Panthers made during the offseason was to cut ties with Hardy. He is just the worst type of guy to have on a roster.

To be quiet honest, I'd love to see a player end the scumbags career on the field. A nice traumatic compound fracture of his Tibuala & Fibula would do nicely. Chicken shíts like him shouldn't be on an NFl field. It must be hard for any player who was raised right, to share a field with filth like him. And while I hate to see any a player from any team getting injured. I can make an exception for special scum like him.

I'm not sure why the NFL are getting blamed in this situation. They gave him a 10 game suspension which was overturned to 4 after an appeal by the NFL players association. I'd love to see the NFL players association come and comment why they felt what Hardy did wasn't that bad, but they won't.

The problem is you can now compare this to Ray Rice. Rice done for a season Hardy gets 10 overturned to 4. But having said that the evidence in this only came to light now so the NFL didn't see the pictures when they handed down the ban because the case was settled out of court. But in hindsight any case like this in my eyes should be a season ban especially if they are going to bang on about integrity.

Let's not forget about the insufferable bollocks that is Jerry Jones and him green lighting such a player onto his team.

And if they gave him a season ban it also would have been overturned to 4.

There is basically nothing the NFL could have done about this. In an ideal world the owners would have completed the punishment by refusing to sign him.

Cowboys with Greg Hardy in the line up; 0-4

    Good

They should have seen the evidence. They ballsed up Rice and should have learned their lessons. If Deadspin can see the documents, then the billion dollar NFL can see them (and so can the Cowboys)

It wouldn't have mattered. The ban was reduced because the incident occurred before the new standards of punishment for domestic violence were introduced.

I'm not saying they could have done any more with the ban, but, as with Rice, they have a duty to find out everything they can

And this applies to the Cowboys so teams can't plead "we didn't know..."

Best summary of the Hardy outrage that I've read.

It's a good article, but in a land that preaches about innocent until proven guilty, it's advising the exact opposite. I can see more and more pressure being put on the league in cases like this, until eventually, someone's career gets ruined because of false accusations
