Current slot on Seans show is CLEARLY an advertisement for a clinic that provides IVF for maturing single women

he's 6ft 4. Would you have looked for a refund if he had been 5ft 4?

Is that guy for real? We have thousands of people desperate to know who their biological parents were? Has he been under a rock the last few years ...

I have zero respect for weirdos that deny children full knowledge of their parents

That union guy on about the fishing industry should sort his anger management issues. What an aggresive, rude & intolerent "contributor". Some wild numbers been thrown around about illegal exploited crewmen

Yes, got the same impression myself.

I hear a Travellers representative on the show today, complaining about 'lack of engagement with the state'

I would start with engagement with the Revenue, the ESB,The cleansing and litter departments, the VAT and car tax,NCT and insurance, the animals act.

That would be a good start.

the only ones who seem think "travellers" are an ethnic group are travellers. they were spouting the same muck on pat kenny the other day. theres a real us and them attitude with the travellers

And a new word - 'othering' - was introduced to our vocabulary! I thought Ian O'Doherty would burst a blood vessel!! :)

Is Diarmuid Ferriter the only historian in Ireland?

It's not brand new: it's been around for a few years. I think it is a useful word.

He puts his blood vessels in danger most days. I enjoy hearing extremists (of the right or left) becoming apoplectic.

He's one of the better communicators among Irish historians. And he is very energetic.

he is, hes not up his own hole like some of the historians you hear on the history shows speaking down to the little people in a condescending tone

Indeed. He is very good. It is his ubiquity within RTE that puzzles me :-)

Ucd is quite close to Montrose.

While not doubting his integrity and knowledge, all he ever seems to do over the radio platforms is bleat for more money for stuff.

Everything seems to come down to "the State needs to put more money(taxpayers money) into this that and the other"

    Check it out.

Understand these dudes are very highly paid and seems to me that academia, whilst fulfilling an important function, can ,as Brendán often demonstrates,be a tad strident and blinkered into thinking the great unwashed are greatly concerned about the stuff they are involved in and want to horse money in to them.

That my take on the bould Breandān

We live in the sunny south east, a heavily enough populated part - if I had to call an ambulance, I think you'd be looking at 45 mins at best. Enniscorthy is probably the closest at 30 km, but if they were on call elsewhere - it'd have to come from Wexford town or Kilkenny or Tallaght etc. So always find it striking when I hear people worry if an ambulance doesn't get to them in 20 mins etc.

Same situation where I live but realistically how can you have an ambulance standing by at every street corner? Even if you had an unlimited supply of ambulances there would still be occasions when situations like this would arise.

Just highlights why everyone should do a First Aid course

I can't believe I heard a councillor actually say that, he will probably get pulled over the coals for telling it like it is.
