Little dirty gurriers, they're usually from a single parent family, boys need a strong dad present to lay down the law and give them a good kicking if they refuse to obey.

A strong Mum and Dad make a good son.

    Do you generalise much ?

Yes speaking in general, as in the vast number of cases. That's how we quantify a problem, we take the general rates.

Unfortunately in many of these cases it's a "strong" dad who is out buying the materials for thier little scumbags to cause the fires. Scumbags are scumbags regardless of marital status

It's not possible for anyone to control anyone else.

Better education of kids by parents and in school is what's needed.

These kids need to learn their actions have consequences.

Nonsense, parents are meant to parent. It's basic cop on not a degree.

It's laziness - have kid get money and when the kid turns out to be an asshole, it's schools fault.

These Dads are failing their children, a boy needs a positive strong male presence in his life. They learn from their fathers. A strong Dad can put a wild pup straight.

In fairness look at how many broken families there is with young parents compared to the continent, its the whole attitude in this country.

Have a few babies young and the state will put you in a house and support you.

No sense of responsibility and that just passes onto their kids.

Your last line is probably right, the first is absolute rubbish, little scumbags come from all types of families and backgrounds.

But in general they come from broken homes with no father figure.

Take studies into American criminal gangs such as Crips and Bloods for instance, it's estimated that 90% of members of each are from broken homes.

I'd say the main problem is the father is too busy having a few pints in the pub with the lads while watching Man Uny-ra play, and cursing at the telly that Rooney is ****e.

Morons like this are the issue. They just want to carry on being a man-child and having the craic instead of learning what it is to be a good parent.

They've probably had run ins with the 'filth' themselves and see it as part of growing up - he'll ponder that being a bollix himself didn't harm him...

I agree with KungPao, many fathers are not up to scratch these days, this laissez faire version of parenting. Absolute bull, if you have a son you take him under your wing and teach him how to become a man, to have honour, dignity and respect. Tutor him on how to become gentleman, if you neglect him there's a good chance that he'll veer off in wrong direction and become a nasty sh1t.

Cut their hands off, they wouldn't be chucking bribes then.

Maybe cut their balls off also, so they don't procreate any further.

Eugenics would be a viable consideration in tandem with sterilisation

I don't think it's demonisation of single mothers to speculate that a lot of these little sh1tes come from single parent families - studies elsewhere have shown this.

To me, it simply indicates how bloody hard it is for a single parent - especially in an area with lots of problems - to parent alone, and how much they need someone to help them parent. I agree boys should have a male role model growing up too.

Parents might take an interest if their welfare is withdrawn.

I appreciate I'm making assumptions here but I suspect said parents aren't out there grafting hard only to see little Johnny out on the streets acting the pri*k.

This sort of crap goes on in Northern Ireland too. Attacking police, fire brigade, ambulances when they are called out to help someone.

Absolute lowlifes. Their parents are probably the same....

I bet if the Gardai were ordered to fire rubber bullets or use tear gas it wouldn't be long until the parents of Leon or Andrea were out on the streets themselves complaining.

Following the Dublin Fire Brigade as they are live tweeting.

The little scrotes (Someones kids) are setting fire to anything that is flammable.

    Where are the parents..

    ..

The parents? They were at a Right2water gathering, busy people.

Surely there must be someway of forcing parents to control their kids. Maybe automatically dock their social welfare for everytime one of the little scrotes gets caught acting the bollox like this?

What a stupid and impractical idea. let the kids suffer first

Child allowance is also a welfare , even if the parents were workers , if their child allowance was cut if their child was causing trouble it wouldn't be long until these little scum bags would be brought to heel

Reinstate the allowance once a child has 3 trouble free months under their belt

The house burnt down thanks to those in Balbriggan (owners were drinking wine downstairs totally unaware when my friend alerted them) and those lovely 'kids' attacked the fire brigade trying to extinguish it on top of that, like WTF

Under resourced gardai, fire and ambulance service don't help either,By right the guards should have went to all fire calls with the fire service last night to protect them.

Whilst I agree isn't it totally sad that the police (guards) should be needed to protect the fire brigade. I was no angel by any means when I was younger but even in my stupidest, teenage drunkest moment I knew that the fire brigade, ambulance service etc were there to help people in need and it wouldn't be seen as big or clever to attack them.

I really think that kids nowadays have less and less manners and that is not a good thing. If I found my kids to be involved in something like that I would first be mortified, then I would be handing out discipline like it it was going out of fashion.

Kids know they are doing wrong, irrespective of good or bad parenting. It comes down to no serious consequences for their actions when / if caught and taken in.
Over the years the feral - pack behaviour is worsening with emergency crews and equipment being fair game for their nights entertainment. I really hope this scumbag mentality gets stomped out and eradicated soon before a crew member is fatally injured.

If you want a tweet to vent on, have a pop at the WA police, i'd say the whole internet will joint in shortly

    This is a classic.

It's a case of Dublinitis- mass interbreeding of scumbags funded by a generous welfare system and a lack of parenting instincts!

2 stabbings, 1 death, ES attacked, burnt ****é everywhere, yup sounds like fun.

Sure some of them fires are no go's even for people living in the same community. Bunches of knacks looking for any excuse to run amuck.

These knackers from Dublin would make you be ashamed to be from Dublin.

Yeah because only unemployed people go to right to water marches.....

I posted about the Fire Brigade being constantly attacked in another thread a few days ago. Got the usual sure it happens in every country. Maybe it does but there needs to be harsh penalties for anyone who takes part in this behaviour. Parents need to be held to account to. DFB are attacked on a regular basis. This is not new.

Speak for yourself. Few scrotes don't represent me or most people.

Almost as silly a thing to say as the stupid Dublinitis post above it

Really not 100% sure if I should tell this story.

I'm ex fire service. Several years ago on St Stephen's day we were called out to a an area where we had been attacked several times. Bricks, bottles - all the usual crap.

Anyway, the entire crew had caught a stomach bug that was going around and we were just miserable. We didn't go sick because someone else would be caught to cover us.

We arrived at the incident and quickly got thing under control and were clearing up when things took a turn for the worst. A gang of about 12 -14 lads ranging between about 16 y.o - 20 gathered around us. Initially they were just asking questions about the fire engine and equipment. Then one of them grabbed a bolt cutters out of the locker. We took that back and then some pushing and shoving took place. Suddenly men were coming out of houses and stones were being thrown and we were pretty much scrapping. I remember feeling really weak and my head pounding from the bug and I knew this had to finish quick or I was going to get my head kicked in.
Last thing I remember was one of the fire fighters holding a young fella high above his head and tossing him into a garden and then things were suddenly quiet, almost as if nothing at all happened. Gardai arrived just as we drove off and we just waved at them.

Expected hell to pay in the days after but never heard a word about that incident again and I never discussed it with any of the crew I was with that day. Not particularly proud of what we did but at the same time just for once standing our ground and giving as good as we got wasn't the worst feeling in the world.
