Well because ALL cattle won't do that. Breed, sex, breeding and feeding (land type and are you/are you not stuffing them with bag stuff). There's many factors to consider. You can't make general statements like that.

Fair point Muckit. I can only comment on what goes inside our stone walls.

At best a base of 4.10 at the time plus 24cent for the u+ then 12 cent quality assurance would leave €1980 or maybe I'm missing something.
You will tell us what you got for him and what weight he was and when you sold him. Please do.

6 months, 250kg 650e. Fella that bought him is always on ours when I bring them to the mart, no wonder he stays coming back. Calf from the same cow this year and she's a half twin. CD8EC80B-4C79-48F8-8BCE-82200CF26496_zpslbelf4lr.png

    Hes a grand one.

Don't worry about the buyer getting a twist. He gave it all back to you this year!

I wouldn't begrudge anyone, everyone needs a twist out of them and a big difference in beef price in that timeframe too. He had a good twist out of him though!

Do you think, allowing him say to be sold again he would have left about €1.90 a day to cover all costs. there would be over a €100 on interest alone taken off him

Imagine how some lad with a few brood mares feels when a foal they bred and sold for small money wins a big race?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Roscrea would be a very, very, long haul from my area. Only reason that I asked is for a local man (one of my late Uncle's friends) that wants me to transport the bull (jeep/trailer) to a factory.
Smashing bull in fairness and as most of ye know I don't rate Charlaois, however this lad is exceptional.

Twas a fair ould spin for me as well took a good half day or more but anything local was only paying 2.80 so I recon I got a nice days wages for the trip even after diesel.

For every animal that performs like that, there is the one that is found dead in the field.

They are getting an adequate supply to negate any price rise but fat cattle are not in over supply. Pick your day.

Going Sunday. They are in good order. So rather have them going right than holding on and having them go back.

What would HEX kill out at. One lad killed out at 399kg. Didn't think they were as heavy as that before they went

51 to 54 percent. Depending on type. 53 is what I'd work off with whiteheads. Did you have any r grades on them?

Haha. Just calculated it at 52% around there. 760kg. Roughly 25kg per mt. Wonder did they penalise much for overage and as whiteheads easily do go over fat.
