Where did I say everyone was required to agree?what's your problem?

I never said you did. I asked if that's what you thought.

My problem (and possibly an unpopular opinion) is that some people assume that other people dress more for their benefit than their own.

I like to wear a suit. It feels good. According to you that makes me a wanker.

Do you dress according to what you want to wear or according to what you want people to think of you?

No you're dead right, wear the suit.your attitude however does confirm my theory about the wearers of suits outside of work and formal settings being **** however.

Sorry if I offended you by asking questions. Don't get any tear stains on your football jersey.

There's nothing wrong with a man dressing sharply. I don't get how taking pride in ones appearance could be considered wankerish.

Hang on, is it that **** dress nicely or don't dress nicely enough? Make your mind up!

Anyway, you don't wash a suit.

Not good ones. Cheap ones are regularly machine washable e.g M&S suits.

Sure sign of one: Derailing a decent thread for a petty spat over suits and jerseys. Cheap or otherwise.

    Another few:
Anyone who still believes in the conspiracy theories in the film "The Matrix".
    Conspiracy theorists
Anyone buys in to the Freeman argument
People that used the phrase "rent is dead money". The word "rent"was also interchanged with "Insurance" or "alcohol".
Those that haven't watched TV in years or bought a DVD in years. Can't wait to puke the smugness out.
water charge martyrs for "the cause"
Anyone that utters the phrase "tax the rich".

Posing as different men online to harass you.

In my case the signs are being forced to listen to their absolute garbage on the bus yesterday! :o Sorry if this comes off as a rant. Just well, read on...

Anyways I get the bus yesterday (dublin bus) and because of the train strike in the morning the bus is extra packed and I had the unfortunate luck of sitting in front of three 18 year old college students (one guy and two girls - amongst talking crap they said their age hence why I said the exact age)

Now, they were loud and talking all sorts of bollocks that everyone on the bus could hear. Ranging from one girl openly saying how unprotective sex is better and how her mam caught her with "an abortion kit" in her room (really don't think the bus is the best place for that!) To the other girl saying how her mother wants to "adobt a little black baby" to which the words "a little monkey running around the backgarden" were said

Then they started talking about how one of the girls should get pregant because the "sesh" (session) would be amazing.... oh dear lord.
Just very loud and very opinionated. You know the type. Sorry if I had a rant.

    Pssh.

People that post a rake of comments rather than putting it all into one giant comment. :D

Maybe I should but the whole giant story into one giant comment. But what's the bloody point like?

    Ok here goes.

A couple of years ago. I friended an Fb page it came up as suggested peeps. It had a funny pic the guy lived in OZ. I thought meh what's the harm. Funny pic etc. Different fb time.Guy was (or I think) a poker player named Eoghan O' Dea. Honestly never expected him to contact me or pay any attention. Really genuinely ..wish I never had now. That very night he fb messages me privately saying he has lost his phone and can I text it to tell someone to return it. I say no at first. But he insists he is being genuine. SO I do. I did think after that '**** I have given a stranger my no now.' But nothing happened and I forgot.

I never used the no. Nor did I give to anyone etc. I never called. Nor Did I talk on fb. He rarely posted. I should have unfriended the profile then.

Then out of the blue one night he tells me to call him. I refuse so he calls me is drunk and I it comes across as a prank or something. He whispers 'I love you'...... in a creepy voice I get embarrassed and pretend not to here. He is sloshed. Tells me to call him sometime. Needless to say I don't.

Again I am polite the next day I allow him the dignity of pretending it never happened. I am a good sport about it and I don't bring it u when he messages me having realized he called. He chats and seems vaguely sane.

He asks me to call him again. I 'm stupid so I do. I can't remember that. I do remember he asked me out both calls. I asked him out after . He said no. I accept that graciously.

Now this is where it gets weird. This other guy called mark burke friends me. Seems a bit weird but harmless. I talk to anyone. I am learning i don't have to and shouldn't have to talk to just anyone. But it becomes obviously this person is ill. He messages like crazy and tries to friend all my friends. I unfriend everyone on FB I don't know for a while including other weirdo Eoghan O'dea. (mods can edit this if they want to)

Then online I am harassed it's obviously one person. This one person keeps hinting subtly that they are the poker player or mark burke or they know them or what happened. But that makes no sense. Why would someone like that risk it ?? Why care?

I behaved like a bit of a gob****e myself fair enough. But in my defense I am just generally nice.

And oh yeah goldigging stalkerina crazy bitch ....bring it.

I also trolled like a gob****e. So sorry. I got really confused too. Still am. Pride was prob hurt too. But some people took it too far.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 410 ✭✭Teafor two12345

So basically profile after profile would harass me in a similar way and subtly suggest they are the same person.

    Hipster-Wanker: .....(with a subtle smirk)......Hamlet.

    Barista: ...(writes it on cup)

I don't get this one. Are you saying the barista is the wanker? Wasn't he/she just respecting the right of the hipster to be a dick?

Men who say "totty".....they're out there

A pair of students (boy/girl*) just like this sat in front of me on a full train last year and commenced a loud conversation about their student lives. I think they knew each other but weren't studying together. The entire carriage was treated to long tedious details about his drunken sexual exploits, and her opinions about periods. They appeared delighted with each other. As I got off the train I exchanged a rolling-of-eyes with a young woman who was obviously similarly unimpressed. I was glad to know it wasn't just me. I'm no prude and had no problem with the subject matter as such, but for crying out loud, there's a time and a place and a level of volume that's appropriate to the conversation.

Of course, it wasn't a real conversation at all, more a case of putting on a show for fellow passengers, presumably to show how cool and mature they were, little realising that it was having quite the opposite effect.

(*To call them man/woman would imply more maturity than they possessed.)

I swear the only time I hear/read that is from British people and publications. I can even vaguely remember reading it in the Beano or the Dandy when I was about 6-10 years old.

    Does this actually happen?

I've never come across it & quite frankly wouldn't understand it if I did

I worked with a guy who did this long before hipsterism was invented. He claimed it made him look more interesting to women. He was sussed when another colleague tried the glasses on and said, shocked, "I'd better get an eye test! I can see perfectly with these!"

    Exactly....

So when I joined a multinational and heard all the suits using it I couldn't take them seriously
