Taking your non belief into account would you have preferred not to have been born or are you delighted you were?

Not an atheist. But I struggle to see how "taking non belief into account" is going to affect the answer anyone might offer to that question.

Most people are pleased that they exist except presumably those who find existence miserable. But there's no reason to think that atheists are more likely than others to find existence miserable.

(If anything, I'd expect any causation to work the other way - people who find existence miserable might be more likely to become atheist. But, seriously, I think we'd be talking about a vanishingly small number of people here.)

Of course I am glad I exist. I'm also glad that I don't spend my existence trying to please a fictional deity in order to enter an equally fictional afterlife based on a 2000 year old book.

Very silly question.

I have all of the things theists have in my life, love, joy, friends, family etc, the only thing I don't have is a belief in a sky fairy who wants to burn me for eternity because he only shows his face on a piece of toast in Guatemala.

I used to only toast one side when I was young but then copped on and now do both sides BUT!!! finished product has to be left to go cold BEFORE buttering

I enjoy life to the fullest! Arguably more so than theists as I can fully appreciate the novelty of having a consciousness that lasts for a mere human lifetime.

If someones beliefs make them wish they hadn't been born then they might consider seeking help to improve their perspective on life.

It's all good op, might aswel enjoy the experiences life has to offer!

Possibly the thinking is, and I'm only guessing here, coming from the point of view of a believer: How can you get through life knowing that at the end of it, it was all for nothing.
