I'll wait for it to come out on dvd. If you're going to watch in the cinema be prepared for a section of the audience to uncontrollably whoop and holler everytime their favourite character walks into shot.

What cinemas do you be going to, because it doesnt happen in this country.

And that reminds me, they're a bit sensitive to any perceived slight.

This is mandatory viewing for me.

I'm going to sit down with the young lad and watch all six before I take him to this.

Will have to bring the kids just like I had to go to Frozen. Liked the originals when I was a kid and still think they are good kids movies. Can't believe so many adults are taken in by the excellent marketing of the franchise to think they are anything more than kids action movies. it really shows the power of good marketing.

I wonder if you have seen them since you were a kid.

I too saw then originally in the cinema and loved them for the adventure and the aliens etc.

However, I have seen them again several times since, most recently during the summer and I would certainly not call then 'kids movies'.
Issues like mortality, morality, mass murder (a whole planet gets blown up, violence are generally not things you really always find in kids movies.
I think they are films that appeal to all ages.

It's like saying that The Simpson's is a kids show. They enjoy it but adults get more of the jokes.

I only remember it happening one myself. It was during rocky balboa and when the training montage started and the iconic music kicked in the whole cinema started cheering

That's over 30 years ago, you were most likely a kid, as were most of the audience.

I think Star Wars is a film that needs to be seen on the big screen.

I wasn't too interested before and was going to wait for a few reviews first, but having seen the trailer and learning the Star Trek guy is involved I'm actually pretty excited now!

Rocky Balboa was the last sequel and was released in 2006.

Millennials (and a few contrary Hipsters) are the naysayers with regard to Starwars. Born in no mans land between the original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy

Weren't born at the time of the Original Trilogy and when their experience of the originals was catching bits of them airing on UTV on Xmas Day on their families mono sound 21" square telly in the late 80's or early 90's, its not surprising the original Trilogy doesn't have the same impact for them. Yet they were too old in their late teens early 20's by the time the Prequels came out and had much more important things to be focusing on. Thus they can't see the appeal of the Prequels either. As a child for the Originals born in '74 who saw them all in the Cinema Star Wars well and truly has its hooks in me and the nostalgia effect is massive for me. However, I thought the Prequel Trilogy was muck as a 26-32 year old. That said I can understand how the generation that were kids for the prequels might be as nostalgic for them as I am for the originals. So there is a great swathe of people who were kids during the mid 70's to mid 80's and another swathe of people who were kids for the late 90's and early 00's and both Star Wars enthusiastic groups are hyping up their kids or younger siblings/nieces/nephews of 2015 for the new Trilogy etc Its going to be fcuking huge and from my perspective can't be worse than the prequel trilogy. The only demographic from the last 40 years who can't understand what the fuss is all about are those poor unfortunates born in the early 80's :D

You obviously didn't go to see Revenge of the Sith...it was godawful tripe and the morons around me was whooping and cheering like Jesus came to life.
If you want a real vision of how Stars Wars should be listen to the audiobooks.
In particular the Darth Bane trilogy...its extremely dark and fantastic.

edit: just looked at the rating for it on imdb...7.7...obviously all the morons loved it.

But they were the best part!

Also I want to hear more about those power converters in Toshi Station that Luke wanted to get in Episode IV. Will we find out if he ever got hold of them?

Good to see Jar Jar Binks making his comeback

Superheros, Batman, the Marvel Universe et al can suck my ass but a Star Wars movie brings me instantly back to my childhood so I will certainly be going to see it.

If your trying to get in touch with your childhood, then I hope you have a great time. Just don't try to convince anyone that the star war movies are anything but dated garbage and we'll all get along fine.

It was a child's first vision of space on a huge screen, that memory is burned into your brain if you are a certain age

It's funny how this franchise is the most successful in history, and the next film will be huge but an angry person on the internet just declaires it 'dated garbage'.

Ive not seen any of the other 6, nor do I want to, so I wont be going to see this.

The Twilight Saga was a big steaming pile of horse doings, but hugely popular.
    What's your point?
