Who knew finding a tyre for a Citroen C5 could be so hard. No where has 205/65/15s in stock anywhere. 3 or 4 days says most places. Fat lot of use when working shift work.

Going to be another 3 or 4 days driving on a baldy spare. Hope it doesn't rain......

New car sorted for my mother. A new Skoda Yeti 1.2TSI is on its way for January delivery. Happy out with the deal.

    Well wear with that anyway!
So, a radical departure to what she had before? :pac::P:D

We looked at a nice few cars before deciding including the new BMW X1. She actually really liked that but didn't feel the view out the back was as good as the Yeti. Still, one salesperson did everything to kick-start the morning badly by telling us we were very odd people for wanting a petrol and continued to tell us how wrong we were when I pointed out the tiny mileage we do.

Is it a different colour and spec at least ? I wonder is there good deals to be got on new vag stuff at the moment not exactly a queue to buy them with the scandal I suppose vw are probably the most effected even though the same engines are used across the group.

Yep, face-lifted model and a step up in spec which is nice and different colour

I think those Volvos are absolutely wonderful.

Drove one with a manual gearbox once and that was an experience!

Best of luck with the Mammys new car BA!!

I'd love a XC90, but I think even I'd cry at rate they go through fuel.

We'll see what it's like when he actually picks it up but the computer thing said average of 9L/100KM. It's been driven in the city for the most part.

9l/100km is not so bad in the city from a true Suv.

It's a two tonne diesel 4x4 7 seater, I'm sure mid to late 20's would be common around town and higher on the motorway. Not bad for what it is and those D5 engines are actually fierce economical!

That looks like a clean xc90 GvidoR you are buying from a dealer is it as I've never heard of a private seller putting on a tow bar for a sale. Anyway should be a nice comfy yoke to cruise around in.

In other news I think I need to stop using fuelly after this evenings fill up better of just not knowing my mpg. Granted I was driving it on a bit more than usual but down to 47 mph max I've ever got is 51 mpg averages 50mpg but I mean I mainly so long trips motorway driving so should be doing more. I think it's biggest issue is it revs too high on the motorways needs to be a good 500 rpm lower. Another thing is well the likes of a vag trip computer is normally correct to within 1 mpg. The trip computer on this only reads an average of between 4.9-5.2 l/100km which is very wrong I mean it was reading 5.2l/100 km when I was getting 50mpg yet today average was 5.0l/100 km so it's not even consistent. It should really be reading 5.8l/100km. I reset the trip every tank so it's not that.

It's just annoying as a lot of diesels in the same segment would do better than 50mpg over long drives would be different if I was only tipping around town. I suppose it ultimately doesn't make that much of a difference cost wise.

It was actually quite dirty today but it should be very clean after the valet. Yes, it's from a dealer. He's trading in his Vectra, which is very economical if you ask me. :pac:

You will drive yourself demented leaving any of the fuel readings up on the trip computer.

I done it the first week on the 530d out of curiosity and got it up to 50mpg on motorway miles that was just to see the difference from the 330i.

But I've knocked it off in every car I've ever owned for peace off mind just knock it off and enjoy driving imo.

I'd take the connect. If a berlingo arrived, I'd try swap it.

Our old garage was the size of an average house would fit 4 cars when empty with space to work around them. As the saying goes you don't know what you had until it's gone. I used to love just deciding at 8pm in the night I wanted to do something to the car and go out to the garage lights on work till 2 am if I wanted radio on pure blis. But my parents were sick of the country and so now we're in town far better location but no big garage now. 1.5 years later in still in mourning :pac:

Whatever house I buy in a few years if it doesn't have a biggish garage or space to build one I won't buy it end off.

Ah the new Berlingo is not too bad the drive none are as nice as the caddy but sounds like you won't be getting one of them. I never liked the connects although if it's the newest model it would be nice enough.

I suppose you won't care to much a free company can is a free company van :)

Yeah, we don't do garages in Ireland. Either convert them to a 5th bedroom that no swine ever uses or fill it up with €200 worth of crap and leave €20k worth of car rust in the drive.
