I could fill the yard with new cars in the morning. But for what? Who needs that crap? Too many mind. Sixteen-year-old shítheapery is truly the Tao.

I've had my fair share of problems with older cars, things going etc. You cant beat the peace you have with a newer car. I had it with the mondeo, but now that's starting to push on, the problems will surely start to appear.

What? If you're referring to that last pic, it's a MK3 Golf so that's before the red letters kicked in.

That is properly cool, even if it is a Volkswagen.

I'm happy with what it is now, despite its missing silencer :D

It's amazing the difference the C250 td turbo does to an XUD :) like standard power delivery/boost threshold but with lots more useable power within the rev range (for now the turbo comes in with a bang due to the lack of backbox, it was very smooth beforehand).

None of this drops off after 3k rpm like a crap fap, it goes close to the redline happily (restricted by the limitations of the turbo). I've made a very unusual diesel

What will it be like with the turbo from a tipper installed....

This has the makings of a plan. You need that, plus 70-25-5 DERV-petrol-marine two-stroke, and go drag-racing. You'll either have the guts of it shat all over the 'macadam, or the only eight-second furry old XUD in the World.

    ¡!

I'll keep going till I blow it up, look back, laugh, say that was fun and do it all over again :D

Would love to create a 200bhp XUD. It would test my pump building skills and be pushing the limits of the pre cups.... I'm happy with a figure like that. I came close enough before sure..... ;)

Although there is a Volcane TD (mmmmmm ZX ;)) running 260bhp with a dieselmeken pump. I've often pondered about an inline setup, like from an OM601....

The thoughts of an inquisitive mind :D

Quite. Is there anything at all to be said for a supercharger the size of a 1980s Nordmende?

C'mere - oul' Baldy Noonan didn't actually increase the tax on petrol/diesel in the finish, did he?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Was he going to just increase the fuel tax just because, or to get rid of the motor tax? (unlikely, but hope dies last, as they say)

No... Tinting the front window while I'm at it... :D

Ya, few other spots, before the surface rust takes over the car.

It will be updated in my blog later tonight...

Ramps will be no good if you need to take the wheels off, which is 90% of the time.

Apologies to anyone on the m7 tomorrow I'll be driving down it with car over 3000 revs for a while with possibly a lot of smoke behind me.

Got the dpf cleaned put but needs to be driven to blow the last bits put of it so into tiptronic it goes and drive along for a bit.

It's going back in next week to get the glow plug module sorted.

True, looking at ramps just for service purposes though.

You can change the oil in a Yaris without axle stands or even a jack. There's enough ground clearance. The oil filter can be unscrewed from above as it's just under the exhaust manifold at the front.

Just get in to the left of the rad

Exactly! It's a great car with great accessibility :p

I wonder when the new Astra is hitting Ireland. I kind of like them well I haven't seen any in person yet. The thing is it will have stiff competition from the likes of the golf and focus. Also considering its Opel there's always the risk they will price for themselves out of the market.

    Its that easy?

I knew where the oil filter was.. And you can just slide under to undo the sump nut...

You can drive one or two wheels onto a curb if you have one nearby for a little extra room.
