IThere is a learning curve when moving from iOS to Android, give it a few days and don't be afraid to mess around and google whatever issue you have.

Thanks davo2001 for the reassurance. Its weird how i'm anxious about switching, its sort of a life changing decision :D

How much would custom charges be if ordering from another Chinese website?

I wouldn't chance it, some sites sell it with malware preinstalled. (Mentioned previously.)

I've not used iOS since 7 IIRC but even at that point the difference between iOS and Android was negligible, especially compared to when I moved from my 3GS to a Samsung Galaxy back running Froyo. As you won't be running root-required software right off the bat it is basically just "play around with it for a while until you get used to it", with the added benefit if you really don't like it there's always the opportunity to change elements with apps or ROMs.

As I posted earlier I've unlocked the bootloader & rooted the phone, went ahead an encrypted it but now looked into installing Xposed and it doesn't seem to work with Android encryption as it won't accept the password (I've a pin lock) when booting up so can't make any changes with TWRP, time to factory reset and start over again.

So finally got around to messing with this today, some of the Xposed features have been working while others just don't run. These are the ones I've installed & kept so far today one that is just cut off from the screenshot is YouTube AdAway. One of the main things I wanted to be able to tweak was the carrier name that appears on the lock screen but everything I've tried so far just doesn't work, been mostly messing around with Gravitybox trying to tweak a few settings here & there like the clock is moved into the middle of the screen while you can change battery icons with a mixture of text/numbers I wasn't really digging them, one thing I've found super nifty is ChromePie and will take some time getting use to it but should come in very handy, with Xposed Gel Settings you can make a number of tweaks to the look & feel of the launcher but for me I've just removed the Google search bar. I'll link a couple YouTube videos for other small bits & bobs just for a quick look at what they are.

To those who upgraded from the OPO, was it worth it? Half tempted, but trying to be realistic.

Anyone still have an invite laying around?

I know it was mentioned on the previous page but I wasn't in time. :)

There's a specific invite thread try there. Make sure you read the first post over there though.

Does the OPT come with a usb adapter as standard or will I have to fork out extra for the accessory? Would be a bit of a balls if I can't even hook the thing up to the PC as standard. I assume the UK version will have standard 3 prong charger as well so I wont need a power adapter either.

The PC end is the standard USB connection that fits into your PC, it is only the end that connects to the phone that is different.
It comes with a UK plug.

How much is the postage does anyone know? Do they post from the EU or China? (import duty etc) Trying to figure out how much I'll need in total to buy a 64gig one without taking into consideration accessories or anything.

419 euro all in. No import duty as you're buying from within the EU

Cheers Wynnie. I might be waiting a while though as it turns out. Was initially around the 200k mark in the reservation list, checked back there last night and i was at 700k which was pretty disturbing to say the least. Anyways I did some science and I'm now at the 15k mark, for how long who knows though. The invites seem to be random enough from looking around.

I wouldn't be relying on the reservation list. Get yourself on to the boards list on the invite thread and when the shareable invites start rolling out you'll have more of chance of getting one off someone here.

Yeah seems to be going that way alright, that reservation list seems to be based on sheer chance. Hearing all sorts of stories like lads getting invites from the 900k mark and others getting them without even signing up. I'm just covering my bases here really.

Has anyone used it with Android Auto? Got an invite but don't want to pull the trigger if it definitely won't work.

Anyone with the OP2 care to answer the below:

What screen on time are you getting for the OnePlus 2?

Is the camera faster than the OPO? I find the OPO pretty slow to take a pic, and miss a lot of shots

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,777 ✭✭✭sentient_6

SOT is coming in about the same, camera is the biggest improvement, pictures are faster and quality is way better.

    Just after ordering my OPT.

I'll probably order: Orzly® - Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 2

But does any one have any case recommendations? Not flip style, just something to protect it for the first couple of months.

    Anything else worth getting? Chargers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,777 ✭✭✭sentient_6

Just note it comes with a screen protector fitted. I think its that glass one I bought too and it's been a bit of a waste of money as I haven't bothered putting it on yet. I got a Orzly fusion bumper case because I got the phone with the black apricot back.

In terms of case I went with http://m.ebay.ie/itm/TPU-Ultra-Thin-Soft-Protective-Transparent-Clear-Net-Cover-Case-For-Oneplus-Two-/291549875254

Really like it so far. Didn't want something clunky that hid the design so this suited me. Only downside was 2 weeks delivery time but sure look at the price of it.

I will be curious to hear how charging works on this device.

While quick charge may not be an option, the point of USB-C is its capable of charging up to 20A compared to restriction of 2.5A on the current MICROuSb crop.

The new nexus devices will come with a 3A charger (compared 2A on the OnePlus two) so I'll be interested to hear would using a charger with a greater voltage speed up the charging process on the OnePlus two or does the phone restrict its charging capabilities

It charges the same as the OPO. Reviewers say it doesn't have faster charging through the USB-C.

I've got a DLH tracking number now, but when I go to the DHL site it say it doesn't exist.

    Annoying.
