I'll probably pop in for a bit. I've a train home at 2pm, so food sounds great in between!

Would like to have gone to meet up with people but the rugby is on early and there wouldn't be a whole lot of time to get back down to Naas for it. Enjoy the run everyone. Hope it all goes well for you.

Best of luck to all tomorrow..

I really want to race th HM but worried as don't want to aggravate the hamstring.. so think it will be a conservative effort to test the distance. Not a PB but up towards PMP.. maybe join the 2 hour guys and drift off the back near the end!

Cue tomorrow and me eyes out sprinting for the line!!

Edit: Cant make ryans but ill be hunting down some flapjacks after the race..

    This morning's facebook status:

You know running is taking over your life when you almost get taken out of it by a car, its driver shouts abuse at you for having the audacity to run on a path, and your biggest concern is that the bastard went and ****ed with your heart rate zones.

    Asshole :pac:

Caught up with the posts and added name to the table.

Working through cycles of optimism and doubt about my pacing for the HM during the week. Thought through each of the last two races (Fingal 10km and FD 10 mile) and compared how I paced each of them to try and mentalise how I would feel given that the pace will be slightly slower this time. It helped, and with all the extra mileage between each of the race series I can also see how that has added some bonus time. Nothing like just getting out there at this stage and just do it.

I will be there for Flapjack Time but wont get as far as Ryans.

Will also pop over to see you all at the finish but won't be able to make Ryan's unfortunately.

So, do we know the 1.40 pacer? Anybody else planning to go out with this group?

Good luck tomorrow guys.. looking forward to it (dreading the drive down though). I hope to see u all after for flapjacks won't make it to Ryan's as a few of my family are coming in to support me and my sister and I would be killed if I abandoned them for the pub.

We do. They will be Killerz and BeepBeep67 from around these parts. You will be in good hands. Rumour has it that Bungy Girl and Murph_D will also be tagging along with them for the first few miles anyway.

Assume the chest infection has cleared up since you are planning on lining up. Glad to hear it.

Best of luck to all those novices and not so novices running this weekend whether in the PP, Charleville, Cardiff or anywhere else. No heroes please. Run hard but run smart..........and as always ENJOY!!

Best of luck to everyone racing the half. It's a super opportunity to nail down the race day outfit for DCM (everything from socks, jocks, bras, down to singlet/tee-shirt and shorts etc) and to practice taking/carrying gels, liquids etc.
    Go forth and pb!

Well I look forward to hopefully seeing killerz, beep beep, Bungy and murph for hopefully the full half :-)

Chest seems almost better. Energy levels are good and I'm drinking a concoction of ginger, garlic, lemon and honey so I should be perfect by tomorrow! I'll be in bed at 8 tonight to make sure I am!!

    Hi NTF,
I am kinda in the same boat, a few of my mates are doing it and aiming for sub 1:50 and are 'goading' me to join them. I wanted to run a more conservative 1:55 ish and use the race as a slightly fast LSR and mind a few niggles. Main 'Pro' of 1:55 is less chance of injury but the main 'Con' is that the Flap Jacks could be all gone!! So conflicted......

See you all at the Flap Jack Stand....not sure if I can make Ryan's as we will be parked up at the Castleknock gate end of the PP.

The pic attached (me in orange Tee Shirt) is after last years Clontarf HM where my mate and I had celebratory Ice Creams (99's of course) for doing a Sub 1:50....nearly killed us....the run not the ice cream.

    See y'all tomorrow!!

I've bought a kilo of oats to make as many batches of flapjacks as I can. I think there will be enough! ;)

Best of Luck tomorrow to all that are running the half marathon tomorrow. I've been a long time lurker and never got in on the act when it all started in May.

Was all set to do the HM, got number and all, but ankle packed in about 3 weeks ago and have only very limited miles in since. Few physio visits and an xray confirms just a wear and tear injury.

TBH I would go do it tomorrow but wife would probably kill me for it, it would cost me a fortune in physio and I wouldn't be able to walk for a month. Going to aim for Clontarf in a Nov. That 2.00 I was going to pace for tomorrow might become a 1.50 in Clontarf if I get back out running in coming weeks.

Will watch out for a similar thread for next year's SSE series! Has been great inspiration to follow it.

Have Fun! You all deserve it.

Best of luck to everybody running tomorrow. See you at the finish line. I'll be wearing No. 5513. Haven't decided on the outfit yet.

Ah Sh1T.....we have been rumbled.....the Boss has spoken.....she even has our race numbers so we can't tell any porkies.....1:55 it is for me and NTF ...lest we will be banished off the thread forever :D

1:55 and a Flap Jack is still waaay better than a 1:49, no Flap Jack and a clip on the ear anyday!!

Hopefully I'll have time to say hi too!

I'm nervous about tomorrow. No idea why. Probably because I don't feel very confident. Hopefully we all do well and reach our goals - confidence boost is always nice!

Good luck everyone. Can't wait to get to read how y'all do!
