Even if Shaw was to drop tonight, I could survive it price wise. Looking more closely at Pedro tbh. Tempted to hold on to both and keep a free transfer for next week.

Yeah that's my confusion, how does someone drop 40% when we are all supposed to be sleeping when they'd only dropped about 10% in the previous 24 hours?

Because its a global game. So while is bright here it is dark elsewhere and vice versa. Something to do with rotation of the earth in relation to the sun.

It's only cause the sun goes...and...its got something to do with clouds....

A good idea for a photo for tonight's risers and fallers a sunrise and a sunfall. Give mick the night off

Would anyone have a screen grab of their gameweek history from 2013/14 which they'd be prepared to give me.

I'm having a quick look at trying to extend my price changes data back to that season based on the records from this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057017904&page=5 The reason (apart from sheer nerdiness) is that this was the siesmic shift in price rises and I want to see how international breaks, total rises etc changed from then to last year and this year. I need to get a hobby don't I!!??

I'm not sure how complete the info on the thread is, we weren't in the habit of posting the full list of risers/fallers as far as I can see so far.

But what I want a GW history for the season for is to see the GW deadlines dates.

EDIT: Scratch that. The info in the thread is crap. Yous were useless, waffling on about transfers with the odd mention of "X rose last night" or "Y didn't rise last night". I think this place has really got its act together since I started posting here!! :D;)

So you think that 4 times the amount of people transferred out Shaw between 12 pm and 7:30 am Irish time than what transferred him out in the preceding 17 hours?

Come on like, it's clearly an adjustment of the formulae.

All I'm saying is that there is a lot of players globally so between 12pm and 7.30 a.m. irish is friday morning at work for alot of players and thats when I make my changes.
I do agree its a large number and I wont pretend to be familiar with the formulae used.

FPLS run some kind of tidy up script every morning after the rises the previous night. He mentioned it in his news page the night the rises didn't happen.

I don't know the details but I assume it adjusts things where something has happened to show a % was off mark. Its often the case that players who were 105% to a rise but subsequently don't rise are then reset to 91% or something when you look at it the morning after.

Not sure what would have made him adjust Shaw drastically, but he clearly did. Perhaps other data showed there were less wildcard transfers than had been assumed.

I've a sneaking suspicion he'll drop. The Friday night transfer people who log in and see a big red flag, that will surely be the one transfer they will make. Of that cohort who own Shaw I think a lot will move him this evening giving a spike in NTO.

This is a good site to trawl through - especially the archive section on the right:

You're looking at 4 times the amount of transfers in half the amount of time in an off-peak time for the majority of players.

There's not a hope it's that. The numbers do not add up. Only an adjustment of the formulae which does happen.

Cheers, archives only go back to Nov 2013.

I wonder would FISO have the data for previous seasons archived somewhere if I go onto them..

Clearly it's a cross between both of these.

Ah, doesnt work. It gives the archive of the predicitons page, but when I click onto the price changes tab it give only the same page with 60 or so records from the start of 2014/15 season.

Can't post a link to youtube at the moment but look up 'Scott Steiner does Math' for a good laugh on maths/calculations etc.

Maybe your best bet is try contact FISO directly. They probably have an archived file somewhere. Now will they give it to you? I don't know.

Just for the craic I compared my 2013/14 & 2014/15 season histories. Both seasons I WCed GW 4 and then used the January WC on GW21 & 23 respectively. Interestingly, the seismic shift is not visible during WC week but in the successive ones. I gained about twice as much value in 2013/14.

Shaw pretty much guaranteed to drop going by FFFix anyway.

Have been onto Fiso. Hopefully they have it. I've a spreadsheet set up so if I got the data it wouldn't be hard to pull out figures.

FPL could (should) have communicated about this issue. If he drops tonight, it'll be a farce.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Anyone else get the feeling that FPL just make things up as they go along for the most part regarding price changes? The majority of people who play the game hardly care about price changes if not don't notice them. They never reveal their formula so when something like this pops up can refer back to that fact to save themselves the hassle.

    Pedro owner? :P

Part of the game, nothing else really.

They could raise price of Aguero tonight and every single one of you would be happier than ever:D

They make the rules, and they make the changes.

They also decide assists, goals etc (all based on opta, though).

Yes but it makes no difference really. I'd hate to win a H2H because my opponent did not see Pedro £0.1m loss coming and as a result got £0.1m priced out to replace him with Sanchez (who would eventually get a hat-trick at the week-end) while the move was no problem for me.

No I wouldn't. I'd quickly lose interest in the game if it was to become a random farce. I know we're very far from that (it's just my intrinsic revolutionary French inner part that resurfaces here :pac:) but this Pedro thing is just ridiculous...

No it wouldn't and no they shouldn't have

    It's all still speculation anyway

Can anyone clear this up for me?

    If I hold on to Pedro;

I bought Pedro at 9.5, if he drops to 9.4 tonight, and subsequently goes back to 9.5 in the future. Will I be able to sell him for 9.5 or will I have to wait until he gets to 9.6 to be able to sell him for 9.5?

If I do sell him it'll only be a one week job and he'll be back in I'd say. Am tempted to start him and see what happens.

    This just appeared on FFFix.
18 Sep: Pedro's unlock time was extended beyond it's usual duration and is unknown. If it was extended to the start of Gameweek 5 his transfers out actually suggest a price drop is imminent, and may occur on the night of Friday 18th September.
