I'm pretty sure only one of them (Matt Stone who Kyle was originally based on) is Jewish. Trey Parker was raised as a Catholic, as is Stan Marsh in the show.

When is the new show on over here? Is it this weekend or the one after?
    This Friday apparently.

Family Guy has been pretty offensive to transsexuals, surprised that was allowed.

I was always a little surprised that the Inbetweeners was so popular given all the gay jokes, didn't think it would allowed in today's ultra-pc world.

The world must not be as PC as you thought.

Two neighbours lived next door to each other.
One was a young man and the other was an old lady.
The young man was fond of sunbathing in the nude on warm sunny days.

One day the old lady rang the police to report him because of his latest bout of nudey balming out. The police came to her house and asked what the problem was.
She explained that her neighbour was sunbathing nude and wanted him to stop.

The Police went out to her backyard but said "We can't see anything?"
Quick as a flash, the old lady responds, "Stand up on the ledge there so you can see over the fence!"

The people likely to be offended will watch this (or more likely, not watch the show). They know the show has a reputation of courting controversy and will bleed their hearts out over it's perceived offences irregardless.

Judaism has got an awful time from the show yet Matt and Trey themselves are Jewish. Christians, Muslims,Scientologists and Mormons have all been hammered too.

I've heard this a lot but in reality Judaism is not made to look bad in the way other religions are. Kyle, the main jewish character is portrayed as the good guy while the anti-Semitic Cartman is portrayed as the bad guy.

On the other hand through their portrayal of Jesus they make Christianity look rediculous and the same goes for the way they portray muslims.

    I don't really care that much.....just saying

South Park is genius. I used to love jamming on an episode and turning my brain off.
A particular favorite of mine is Vote Or Die. A massive campaign in the US to get young people to vote, but SP took the literal meaning of the catchphrase and used it perfectly.

If someone watches South Park and gets offended by it, do they sit through just the first 5 minutes or watch a full episode?

"I like it when you vote bitch....."

That really was a great episode.

All the PETA guys trying to protect the animals when P.Diddy comes looking for Stan :D

I don't think that is true. Jesus is one of the most 'straight' characters they've ever had on the show. Christianity has certainly had its fair share of digs in its direction but no worse than the other religions. There's plenty of Catholic 'good guys' such as Stan & Butters.

It is the Mormons that they don't like!

It is the Mormons that they don't like!

And even the Mormon episode ends with the Mormon kid saying

"Look, maybe us Mormons do believe in crazy stories that make absolutely no sense, and maybe Joseph Smith did make it all up, but I have a great life. and a great family, and I have the Book of Mormon to thank for that. The truth is, I don't care if Joseph Smith made it all up, because what the church teaches now is loving your family, being nice and helping people. And even though people in this town might think that's stupid, I still choose to believe in it. All I ever did was try to be your friend, Stan, but you're so high and mighty you couldn't look past my religion and just be my friend back. You've got a lot of growing up to do, buddy. Suck my balls. "

They absolutely tear anyone and anything tho shreds for a laugh. But they're never cruel about it if you're actually paying attention, and it's always fair and balanced in it's own twisted surreal way. One of the cleverest things about the show is that you can't watch it for long with bigoted or mean spirited views without suddenly having it flip on you and realising you're the butt of the joke.

Fantastic, not cos of Jenner, I don't give two shiny shytes about her, but fantastic because it will likely mean more Kanye piss ripping.

I can see the ending to this episode being something along the lines of:

Caitlyn Jennar is making a speech
    Something bad happens
Someone very bravely saves the day
Everyone keeps talking how brave and courageous Caitlyn is while nobody says anything about the person who saves all their lives.

There's a certain class of serially offended person who'd take the Britney Spears episode where she's blows her head off, or the Crack Baby Basketball episode, as attacks against those people.

Some people can't understand how a bad thing can happen to a character in a show or other piece of media but the person creating the media doesn't endorse that action and is instead using it to say something completely different - the inhuman treatment of celebrities to the point where they have huge mental health problems in the case of "Britney's New Look", or the exploitation of college sportsmen in the US by the NCAA in "Crack Baby Basketball".

It was the same with that Charlie Hebdo thing yesterday.

It bespeaks either a large degree of petty-mindedness or else just intellectual laziness born of not liking the art/media/tv show in question that causes you to assume the worst of it.

I love south Park! we exploit what we deem as "normal" people every day - minorities should also be subject to this as we are all "equal" otherwise everything would be censored and there would be no equality or freedom of speech....

I don't know which I find more perplexing.

The public's obsession with Caitlyn Jenner or the public's obsession with his step daughter's arse.

I dont get the obsession, sure shes just a "little hobbit" :)
