Those guys are nuts, essentially talking about world domination!

yep they are nuts with their feral primitive interpretation of a belief system. they are subversive in their nature, beliefs and demands and by definition enemies of democracy and rational people. enemies of the state.

For anyone asking leftists to discuss economics, you are wasting your time.
    See USSR.
Economics is defined as the study of the allocation of scarce resources.
But leftists like to omit the word scarce.

Another victim of this mad open door policy.

He's a victim of the proxy war in his country. He and his family were probably living there quite happily, until America and Britain decided it was a good idea to arm the likes of the Al Nusra Front in Syria.

Would I be correct in saying that the vast majority of those fleeing Syria and Iraq are Shia?

Everyone uses political reasons to say well it's the USA's, or the EU's, or the Arab Spring's fault this happened and in so saying abdicate the responsibility for dealing with the situation. One reason for this is that the problem is too big for us to be able to even comprehend so we resort to blaming others to make it their problem to solve.

Really, it is people who are living and dying lives that are worse than anything we will ever have to deal with. We all have traumamatic times in our lives but they are living traumatic LIVES. Their whole lives. Every waking minute. We complain about stress but they are living actual, real, fight or flight stress all the time.

Surely, we can find a solution? I don't know what it is. There are so many issues to consider and difficulties that are perhaps insurmountable, but these are people who are living and dying on our whims and I don't know if that's excusable.

Of course there's a solution. It's not invading countries based on lies, because you desire to control their resources, or support dubious organisations with links to the terrorists that crashed aircraft into your city ten years before, because you fancy toppling governments that aren't your lapdog.

When the vast majority of the world's resources are concentrated in the hands of an infinitesimal minority, then there will naturally result a scarcity for most of the people living in this world.

Oddly the vast majority in Hungary at the moment are Sunni for whatever reason.

    Obviously yes.

Now you can get on your high horse and feel great that you knew before other people.
    Why would I do that?

Not sure if his has been posted before. Some drawings from artists around the world regarding the drowned child.

There is nothing bad or graphic but you may find them upsetting.

Thank you for closing the door after the horse has bolted. If I told you so was a 'solution' then in about 20yrs I'll be able to look at the wasteland that is this country and call it 'sorted' I suppose.

BTW, how about the other players in this particular game the Saudi's, Quataris and Iranians are the ones primarilly playing proxy wars in the region?

nobody invaded Syria. the part in bold I assume this also refers to the Turks, Saudis and Qatar. they all want Assad gone and are involved he was and is the evil one right. what about the large number of people mainly sunnis who decided to rise up against Assad and start themselves a civil war do they share any of the responsibility? ...

So we all done on the topic?

It was about the image of one victim of the Syrian War.

I think it's descended into "first they'll rape our kids, then they'll impose Sharia Law and finally take over everything".

I have a full house on my bingo card, so I'm all done anyway. :)

Has the government mentioned whether this is all meant to be permanent resettlement? I seem to recall that we did something like this during the Kosovo war. We flew a few thousand in, kept them in direct provision, and most of them returned home at the wars end.

There's more to the story than that video, and there's a lot more people on the train than the gob****es who are refusing fresh water.

    Oh don't ****e.

The likes of these events (fallout from direct and proxy war) have been going on for years, long before the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

    There's nothing new here.

    :pac:

It says something not very complimentary about this country that a poor little boy washed up dead on a beach could elicit such hatred as has been rampant on this thread.

The so-called "FSA", who had links to Al Qaeda, both directly and indirectly through the Al Nusra Front and the green shoots of IS were supported by the US and their buddies, the House of Saud, in an attempt to topple a government that they no longer wished to support, despite the fact that they were explicitly warned that such a toppling would lead to the obvious chaos we see today.

Funny how Bashir Al Assad was public enemy No1 for the entirety of 2013, but is now a vague memory in the minds of so many as the western rhetoric has changed considerably, when the guys they were supporting turned out to be much, much, worse.

Had a look at Libya lately, since America helped topple Gaddafi?

A fine state of affairs that turned out to be.

Maybe monstrous destabilisation is actually the endgame as it's Europe who'll get the brunt of the consequences.

The boy that died could have lived.

His family were already established in Turkey but his father needed teeth implants and so wanted to go to EU for teeth and a better future.

It was a good plan because asylum seekers can get free dental care in Sweden, although Swedish citizens and Swedish OAPs must still pay of course.

Theres no mention of Sweden, getting free dental care or free teeth. Try again Biko, and really make yourself look good.

The people on this train are not genuine asylum seekers, the only danger they were in was from a bit of poverty in afghsnistan or Iran or whatever country they crawled out from. they are not fleeing persecution or violence but they are seeking money adn all that the west can provide to them because their home country does not offer them as much!

I would go so far as saying that none of these are Syrian and none were in immediate danger before they crossed into Europe from Turkey!

genuine asylum seekers will continue to suffer as long as the system continues to be so widespread abused. many of the people attempting and demanding entry are not genuine.

Wait - are we the infinitesimal minority? Or, are we the ones trying to handle this:

Resources ARE scarce in Ireland. The refusals to acknowledge this would be amusing in any other context.

Shame on these illegal economic transients for using up valuable resources that are badly needed by genuine well deserving people who are fleeing for their lives with only the clothes on their backs!

Meanwhile, the fix is in-German authorities have seized postal packages of fake Syrian passports that were to be used by illegal immigration scammers, and possibly those with extremist intentions:
German customs have seized packages of Syrian passports being sent in the post, the finance ministry said on Friday, writes Justin Huggler in Berlin.
It is suspected they may be used by economic migrants to pose as refugees fleeing the civil war in Syria. Both genuine and fake Syrian passports are believed to have been found in the packages that were intercepted.
A spokesman for the ministry told reporters police were currently investigating the documents, but would not comment on how many were found.
