Boss is clearly years past his best. Marms should have been developed further and put in a position to go to WC

No Felix Jones = Move along and let's wait for the real squad tomorrow.

It really goes against Joe's tactic of having as many fullbacks on the pitch as possible so I'd agree with you.

    Can Tadhg Furlong play fullback?

Stop it with FBs!! Kearney, Zebo, Payne, Henshaw, that's far enough to cover the spot

We've been pronouncing and spelling his name wrong, it's actually Tadhg Fullback.

    Can Tadhg Furlong play fullback?

He has as much experience at full back as at loose head, so it would appear that yes, he can.

Hmm RTE are normally pretty safe with their reporting aren't they?

Usually agree but it's a Murray Kinsella story which gives it a bit more credence.

They're reporting that it's being reported... I dunno, it's still just Chinese whispers at this stage.

What should we be beating Canada and Romania by to be taken serious as contenders

A bonus point win plus zero injuries is all that you want from these games

The prop selection makes sense if DJ Church is very close to full fitness. They'll need the first couple of group games to get him up to speed so there's no point in bringing an extra LH just to hold tackle-bags.

Cave is probably only going because Schmidt sees Earls and Fitz as 13 cover, not 12 cover, and with Maddog as the only other 12 cover they're a bit light there. Pair that with Cave's club partnership with Payne and it's a no brainer really.

If the two looseheads thing is true, the up side is that they must be very confident that Healy will be OK which is great news. Still a risk though. Bringing two nines is a risk that I just can't see as being worth taking just to include more three quarter cover which I don't think we need given the versatility of Luke, Earls etc.

Doesn't matter a jot. France lost their pool game to Tonga and were a bottled referee decision from winning the RWC.

Once we win each game, nothing else matters.

I'm on board with bringing 2 loose-heads and 2 scrum-halves. Frees up room elsewhere. The only problem is if one of them goes down on the day of kick-off, which is highly unlikely. Otherwise Ireland is just a stones throw away and you can get another prop/scrum-half over in a matter of hours. It's a risk sure, but I think it's a risk worth taking.

Payne can cover 12 too, seeing his physical qualities
