The woman's car has been deemed a write off. Has she to send the tax disc back to cancel it or will a phone call suffice?

:p It's motors forum meeting in a public place, he wasn't cast out of the Sons of Anarchy and his life is forfeit if he's seen making himself out to be a member?:p

I think you can only claim the money back if there are 3 months or more left. Probably have to go into the tax office.

Did you have to go into the tax office or was there a form you could complete?

No idea. She made the calls, I do the ground work. I'll let you know later.

Have my car booked in for Tuesday/Wednesday to get the rear cluster/boot wiring and PDC looked at in ICE in Ballincollig, heard good things about them/him. Anyone have any experience with Paul?

Yeah, he sorted me out a few times. Sound lad and cheap too.

Ah... it begins... the annual barrage of follow up phone calls from insurers.
Why AXA, why? You gave a PFO quote, and now you ring me during work all chirpy and pleased to have given me a ridiculous quote?
Do you think I'll change my mind now that you have interrupted me?
    F**K right off.

I want more loud out of my motor. Might lob off the second resonator if I can get it done reasonably. Hmmmmm....

"Ah, young Ultan Shirt/Aoife Slacks/Delete-as-Applicable. You're exited and delighted to be looking for the price of a used Daimler limousine for insurance, are you? Would you yourself personally pay that for your own little shítbox? Thought not. You're dead inside, aren't you? Yes you are my little cherub, dead as a telegraph pole. Have a nice afternoon!" :D

Caught my exhaust on a ridge in a road while on holidays last week, cut a small hole after the cat converters.
That raspy sound. I'll find it hard to repair it :)

    Oh boy!

I've considered a change in backbox for ages but they all seem to sound a bit meh. Always much deeper and boomy. I like the sound of mine, I just think a bit more noise could be nice!

The cat was badly welded into the MX5 so had holes before and after. Also was checking for airflow, so disconnected the airfilter, it just went directly into the airflow meter.
    Sounded glorious! Drove like sh*te.

I've been feeling the same about mine recently, the engine sounds great in the cabin but not so much from the exhaust, would like something a bit louder.

Did you take out the resonator? Funnily enough, now that I think of it, it could have been your video, but an Irish lad had a video of his 3er resonator delete on YouTube and it sounded pretty sweet. I'd consider doing my own if it's not a big job.

    2 things after my day.

    1. My back bake pads are gone, metal rubbing metal gone - nice little track on the disc too, I thought they check all this during a service? Which was gotten about 3k miles ago. They went all of a sudden. Yesterday I noticed the noise.

    2. Them lads that do the stud fitting are so rough! Lad comes in the lorry and bores a hole in the ground for the stud, inches away from the passing traffic. Que debris flying as he bores into the road, right into the side of my car.
Then another buck comes along to the hole just behind the lorry and sprays compressed air into the hole, firing all the broken up tar, chippings etc up into the air, in this case just infront of me to my side. I stopped before he blows the air, but another fella just beckons me on. I mightn't have the newest of cars, but still I don't appreciate tar and other debris being hurled into the side of my car! Christ.

    Nope, mines a Mayo reg.

Mine's also a fraud, having the chrome strips under the windows, add the sony radio to it and I like to think I have a titanium :pac:

This one must be a fraud too.. Had the silver trim around the windows, silver grille, fog lights, sun roof and alloys.. Just done a history check of it (was an easy reg to remember) and its coming back as the LX model!

    Fun fact.

The chap who owned my Alfa 156 V6 (the black one) before the chap I bought it off now owns my old BMW 750i.... Lives not too far from me so great to see back in the area...

I wonder did he see it when I had and want to own it like I did his 156......:D

It's not much of a fun fact but still :pac:

First trip to Cork in the Celica coming up next week. Havn't been much further than 10-20 miles from home all summer in it. Been going up and down in the Astra lately which is downright relaxing.

Kind of nervous of the cooling system given the minor unreleasable airlock thing that's going on, and 500kms over 6 hours is a decent drive.

Should be kept plenty cool on the motorway anyway, wouldn't be too worried about it!

Ain't no motorway on that route!

Some reason I had it in my head he was coming from Dublin :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

You can go via Dublin and down the M8 just as easily as the M11/ N25 rote from where I am they both take around 3.5 hours. I'd be more used to the M11 route so that's how I go, tis ok once you get out of Wexford :pac:

If the car does it once it'll do it a thousand times... or that's the plan anyhow :)

Got sorted with a place anyway, nice little place between ahearla and ovens!

Are you back to college in cork or is it for a job. Is it Wexford or Wicklow your coming from. It won't be long till I'm back to Ucc for final year the joys of it.

Doing an internship in Cork as opposed to taking on a masters in WIT where I done my Bsc. Cork is a bit further than I wanted to go, but my alternative was London, soooo :pac:

    What do youdo in UCC?
