I normally find it's when people say I've nothing against the gayS, some of my best friends made that choice. Followed by a but.

Your OP is the biggest signal for racism / homophobia etc.

My best friend is (enter minority) BUT...

It's hysterical how people think they're hiding their true feelings but you can see it instantly :).

When they write columns on a weekly basis on how gays should be denied equal rights

Panti Bliss ( A soon to be future President of Ireland I hope) was clear : Everyone is a little bit homophobic and it needs to be stopped.

Panti Bliss was clear. Everyone is a little bit homophobic and it needs to be stopped.

Well that's just not true is it..

Well that's just not true is it..

Are you saying Panti Bliss is lying ? . . . actually you are saying he is lying.

Well that makes your opinion pretty worthless then.

I would have to see your definition for homophobic, and heterophobic for that matter.

I find most people are sensibly prejudiced, its not necessarily a bad thing.
actually you are saying he is lying.
He said it is not true. Lying implies the person is knowingly deceiving people, I would not consider creationists to be liars, just stupid cunts, not knowingly lying though.

What did panti bliss say exactly, googling "Everyone is a little bit homophobic and it needs to be stopped" throws up no google hits so it seems you may have got the quote wrong. Unless it was not reported anywhere. I would also like to see his definition of homophobic if available, I think it odd that he considers himself and everybody else homophobic.

I think people are entitled to their own opinion, and it should be respected.

Boards needs to have a special place for those traumatized by losing the SSM referendum. They could gather there and imagine all the alternative outcomes and all the things that Irish people need to be made think about. I wonder is Craggy Island available for them.

I'm confused? You only want Panti to be president, does that mean when Rory O'Neil is out of character there wouldn't be a president

Also, try harder your no Aongus Von Bismark talking about drugs :P

Indeed. There shall be no questioning of Panti's beliefs on AH - that is the one great taboo.

in fairness to them, they'll be celebrating their next wedding anniversary at Burger King instead of Ashford Castle because their marriage has been devalued.

Well if they offer a service but wont provide it to someone because they are gay then yes.

I'm also including the roundabout ways like claiming you have no gay couple rooms so its not discrimination. Or saying marriage is about having children but only if you are gay, otherwise childless marriage is fine.

When they say "gayness is ruining the fabric of society or the family" blah blah - really what they want is to impose their own version of reality onto others.

On a side note - why do people call it phobic? I'd hardly think homophobes are actually afraid of catching the gayness, they just don't agree with it.

A phobia is an irrational fear or hatred of something.
i.e. such people are irrational by definition. Juding by the tone of some of the posts here already, there's a few closet homophobes left in Ireland to be cleaned up yet, and they are still butthurt about the Yes victory.

What we do in our own homes should be our own choice, we can't help the way we feel.

Nope no hatred it's Irrational fear of something. People tag that hatred thing on as if it's fact.
