I'm 100% straight, and frankly it is bordering on discrimination. Why do I only have a 50% choice. It's so unfair!

BTW, poll would be more interesting, if a bit long, if it were asked separately if you are male or female to see if we'd replicate the findings.

Why do we even need to know about this? I dont care and im not the only one who has no interest in the sexual orientation of other people especially strangers. This aint news its just more pigeon holing.

Also I'm guessing the students interviewed were liberal middle class twats who think that because their gal pals look hot in their new dress that it means They're bisexual.

And as a gay guy, trust me when I say Id be delighted if almost half of the male population were that way inclined but this just simply could not be true! Sadly haha

The problem is that young people who have engaged in even a once off bit of messing around even if just watching each other masturbate or even if they get a bit excited watching some gay porn will not pick the exclusively hetro choice even when that will be most likely what they are. Same goes for gay people and that leaves a very high number identified as somewhere in the muddle.

Lol, incidentally homosexual would probably mean sometimes fantasising about the same sex or watching gay/lesbian porn etc . Or maybe even trying it in real life with same gender, but limited exposure.

It's really that simple. If you look at the history of mankind, between the Middle Ages and the 1960s homosexuality was repressed more than any other time before or after. What's happening now is that with the stigma around homosexuality receding, the more natural spectrum of sexuality is being explored.

Well if someone says they're predominantly straight I'd still say their straight overall, they just wander off from time to time. So it's about 70% straightish with still another 8% who are on the "straight" side of the bi continuum.

Yet the poll did not say that. It said they are not FULLY heterosexual. Or probably to phrase it better - not exclusively heterosexual. And actually such a result is neither surprising - nor scientifically problematic.

I would identify as being entirely heterosexual myself. Yet I have been in sexual scenarios with other people present during which I have had some interaction with guys. So in that scenario I did engage in activities of a homosexual nature.

So while I would not have any sexual interest or intention towards men in any normal situation - when it was in a group and my attention was predominently on the women there - I still had some incidental sexual encounters with men there.

So I guess the poll is referring to stuff like that?

No I don't think it's referring to that, it doesn't sound like you were attracted to the men you found yourself to be in a sexual scenario along side so I wouldn't say that it is counted, incidentally homosexual would mean you're attracted to same sex from time to time

I imagine there's quite a large percentage of people who don't consider themselves to be 100% heterosexual, but who have never and probably will never actually act on any homosexual feelings.

Why are we overly complicating everything? In an attempt to stop confusion over sexuality, they're going to cause it... why do we need to stick a label on absolutely everything? I would identify myself as heterosexual. I have only ever had, and only ever wanted to have sexual/romantic feelings towards men. However, I'm able to appreciate a good looking girl if I saw one. What does that make me? Probably not fully heterosexual anymore, according to today's standards... its like saying "oh you're not his label anymore, we're telling you you're now this other label". Yeah, no, fudge off. Wide spectrum labels are far better than loads of narrow ones because otherwise society scrambles to shove you into one label or another. Hetero, homo, bi, and asexual covers just about everyone to varying degrees, no need for any more.

Only 60% of boards users are heterosexual, out of that 60% about 20% are infertile, that leaves use depending on 40% of boardies but 20% of that are women past the menopause, and out of the 20% that's left to have kids 21% of them are under the age of consent.
So were left with -1% of the hetrosexual boards population to make babies to pay the pensions of the 40%.
