Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yep caved and have listened to twice now as pre order hasn't arrived. Deadly riffage and dare I say it catchy tunes :D

I wasn't crazy about the last album, although I like it. But this is unreal. The production is insane. There's a chance I could be over-excited, but I think it's the best of the three.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,403 ✭✭✭spiritcrusher

Wonderful album. Song writing, playing and production of the highest quality. The balance between metal, goth rock and Abba is pretty much perfect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I noticed after the 342nd listen...

    ...it's still fantastic.

Meliora is fantastic :D. Can't stop listening to it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 398 ✭✭Red Wolf

As others have said it really is a great album. I thought the previous one was a completely boring snooze fest disaster and really hadn't any hopes for this at all. Glad I a gave it a chance, hooked from start to finish.

They are touring the UK in December. Not an Irish date in sight :(

Leeds and Manchester on Saturdays though if its possible. I support Leeds, would've gone over for that date and taken in a game but they playing away. Could trek from Leeds to Manchester for the gig, but it'd be tight for time.

Lol Leeds fan here too and my ex got me into Ghost

Would have definitely got 2 birds stoned at once and took in a match and the gig

    Pity were away :(

Yeah, and it works well, did it for Deftones years back. Leeds game/Manchester gig isn't totally dead though, it may be done.

Meliora could easily be my favourite album this year

    Loving the new one :D

A nice surprise wasn't aware new stuff was on the way but an E.P. entitled "Popestar" is dropping this very Friday.

    01 – “Square Hammer
    02 – “Nocturnal Me
    03 – “I Believe
    04 – “Missionary Man
    05 – “Bible

"Missionary man" is hardly a cover of the Eurythmics song :D

These lads are shockingly over rated IMO.

I saw a load of people going on about them a few months back on the DME FB page and listened to some tracks on YouTube.

    Uhhh.

    Boring boring boring.

I kinda consider them "Pop-metal" if such a thing were to exist. They're enjoyable if you're not expecting anything too ground-breaking and don't take them seriously.

I do agree they're pretty over-hyped but I still enjoy them. I quite like that new track I have to say!

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Ya seen them live 3 times myself including at Graspop this year one of the bands of the festival for sure such a tight band.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,885 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

    remind me a 'pop' Slipknot.

there image is pretty cool tbh but when you look at then you would think there a really heavy screamo metal band but there a bit the opposite lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Ghost are probably the only band I listen to every day. Then again Megadeth and Abba are two of my favourite bands, so it makes sense.

I despise that style of ADHD editing. It's up on Spotify anyway.

^ Getting a serious 80's hair metal vibe off that ... Skid Row / RATT riff ... love it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Yeah, I'm hearing Queensryche and 90's Ozzy.

Just finished listening to the new album! Was enjoyable, very 80's!
    Would listen again!

Favourite song is the instrumental Miasma

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Yeah I like it a lot. Not the powerhouse that Meliora was but it's a fine, fine album. Very happy with it.

Solid enough, nothing spectacular. Enjoyed the cover of It's a Sin :)

Yeah, the album is missing a big song at the end, like an Absolution or Monstrance Clock.

So It's A Sin will have to do for that.

Love the album ... don't like the 2 covers tacked on the end of the deluxe version.

That would suck all types of balls .... hoping for a headline show of their own

It's weird. I reckon they could do the 3 Arena at this stage of their career.

I'm gonna grab tickets to Amsterdam when they go on sale tomorrow anyway.

Not a chance they'd play the 3Arena as a headliner. I reckon the Olympia would be just about right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

The Olympia is 1200 capacity. It wouldn't be worth their while, while they're selling out the Royal Albert Hall in 20 mins. They're on a full arena tour now playing 5/6k capacities so with a good support 3k plus people in the Three Arena wouldn't be impossible.

If a band is only selling 3k tickets, no promoter will put them in the 3 Arena

Just realised the Three is 13,000, so yeah. I dunno why I thought it was a lot less than that. Do we have a decent indoor 5/6k capacity in Dublin?

The 3 can be scaled in variable ways: curtain across back tier, extend seating to floor, possibly combo of both.

I think a combo of those would make it that size, but then there's be very little standing, possibly look ridiculous too. And the expense would limit it too.

To answer your question, no there's nothing. Wonder would BGE suit them
