I ended up kissing a fella that went with a girl in my class who I hated. Only so he would buy me drinks (we were nearly all 16/17 and they would only serve those over 18 with id). She was heartbroken and hasn't spoken to me since (about 6 years ago).

The fella has since come out as gay actually!

Didn't get the rattle on my debs night but ended up doing the same chick years later - damn she was good!

If she had a rattle - I hope it was many years later.

I never had a Debs. My school was too small to organise one :(.

I could have gotten the royid earlier than I did. Ah well.

My reward was shifting the substitute teacher. She was a temp, a cracker and a fine young thing.

Oh drink, you make everything possible.

I've been to 4 Debs. My own I went with my boyfriend and everyone sessioned at a friend's afterwards, we would of been killed if there was riding in her house. His Debs he got ridiculously drunk, had to be carried home, and then pissed the bed. The other 2 were just with friends so no riding there either.

I loved all the Debs personally.

But it wasn't the girlfriend you got with, was it?
    It's okay, we'll never tell.

Number of people saying they got the ride (but didn't) has probably increased.

Maybe mine was so long ago but I don't remember any talk of the ride amongst us.My bf at the time came off his motor bike collecting my corsage,so I had to go to the hospital to collect it in my dress and took his friend leaving him in the hospital with his broken arm and leg:0 Looking back now that was a bit mean but we had a great night

Mine was all the way back in '91. It was a good night, most people didn't bring partners either and I managed to sneak a naggin of Bacardi in to the hotel strapped to my thigh with a garter. Good and innocent times. Ours was before the LC, I don't think I'd have bothered going if I'd already finished school.

Ah the debs....the murder the hotels let us away with at them things back in the day. They would pour buckets of water over some of them to stop them shagging.

    Hello Jay

Same here. Trying to survive a night with the company of whom I despised at the end of secondary school, and paying for the privilege? No thanks.

If you think everyone else around you is a tosser then its generally you, not them.

The only ride I was familiar with at that age was the one that took me home

The only people who got the ride at my debs were ones who brought their partner with them. Everyone else just got ****faced. Our school was banned from having future debs in that hotel after our antics... so proud!

Didn't go to mine. The whole idea of it seemed weirdly anachronistic and quaint, even back then. Couple of us just went out instead.

i thought i was getting the ride the night of my debs.

went back to hers while her parents were asleep.
Sneaked into her room while she went downstairs to fix-up some food, her parents had friends over that night and there was loads of food.
Anyway stripped to my boxers and waited for her to returned all eager for sex.

then I heard an almighty crash in the kitchen , in her drunken stupor she'd knocked over a stack of plates and they broke on the floor.

Worse still her dad woke up probably locked and hungover himself and started roaring "wtf is going on" then he got out of bed and stormed down the stairs to lecture her.

meanwhile in a panic i hid under her bed shivering in my boxers.
then realising my suit was on the floor and if he came in he'd know the score. more panic.
I'd never met these people before.

anyway she returned but it was about 7am , i was too fearful so i got the dart into town. ride-less.:(

It's really shouldn't, Debs doesn't stand for anything.

I believe it is an abbreviated form of Debutante Ball.

I didnt go to my debs, because it was so anachronistic 'like'. Now Iam a hipster who wears vintage clothes and wanders around art galleries in my converse.

I went to mine with a friend of a friend but wasn't really expecting a lot, i was awkward as **** back then. Hung around with the same few people i always had in school and proceeded to get monumentally plastered, to the point where i woke up on one of their couches at 5am with a saucepan on my head and a dog licking ketchup off my hand.

Safe to say, no, i did not get the ride :pac:
