    Was listening to him there.

Al his work he has done on Radio and tv has paid off. The yanks will love a press conference of that quality.

    Most golfers are dull.

He was funny, engaging , interested, cogent.

You could almost hear the press didn't want him to leave.

I grossly underestimated the number of private jets that flew in to Whistling Straits after the Bridgestone Invitational.

The poor Air Traffic Controller at Sheboygan County Memorial must have been in tatters on Sunday evening. :D

Could a lad who's just won The Bridgestone, on the cusp of bigger and better things, come across any better?

Good start but he still has some way to go, cant imagine him making the cut but id love it if he did.

Needs a lot to go his way today.

Commentators suggested with the wind getting up this afternoon that the cut could well go out to +2... so Shane is potentially only 2 away.

Birdie on 6 to go -3 today, +3 for tournament.

-4 for today. +2 for tourney. 1 shot outside cut, but cut will probably drift out to +2 later on.

Gone to + 3 again after finding water on the 5th.

    +2 playing 2nd last.

Finishes on +3 and his 3rd major this year to miss the cut by one shot (probably).

Finished +3. Unlikely to make cut unless a storm comes in the afternoon.

Pity Shane didn't make the cut - he's dropped to 22 in the rankings.

He's not appearing on the entry list for the Wyndham Championship this week. Does anyone know if he's planning to play? He would need to finish no worse than a two way tie for second in order to make it through to the playoffs.

AFAIK he was planning to take a 6-week break ahead of a very busy end of season schedule

That's a long break to take mid season. I can see why he'd want to play in the Dunhill Links, British Masters and Portugal Masters, with a week's break before the Final Series. But I would have thought he'd play in the Netherlands or Italy in order to avoid being too rusty starting the final run in.

Six weeks off at this time of year is really strange. What else is he doing that prevents him playing after a two or even three week break?

There's nothing on his website to indicate where/when he is playing next. Very surprising if he is taking 6 weeks off. Pity if it is true - I have been looking forward to seeing him on TV again.

Tbf, I'm only really going on the Midland Tribune I saw at the weekend but it seemed sure and legit.

After his first year or two on the tour he said he'd underestimated the importance of rest. The win at Bridgestone meant accomplished a lot of hos goals for the season so he can afford the break ahead of a busy end of season

He can definitely afford to take the break from a financial and world rankings perspective. But I would be concerned about how much momentum he would lose by taking a six week break from competitive action.

Agree strike when the iron is hot and all that! Its hard to do well the following week after a big win fair enough, but to take 6 weeks off in mid season is a bit ridiculous imo.
