Very similar to mine so I like it :) Is Lukaku a one week punt? Cause his fixtures ain't great.

No point risking Lukaku as he has a tough run anyway after this week, forget Baker, he won't play at all this year
If you downgrade Lukaku you can do all sorts of changing

Welcome back, haven't seen you post here yet.:)

Thanks lads, Yeah I might give Lukaku the drop, hes very hot and cold ha. Lukaku to Sakho maybe and upgrade Baker?

Yeah Ive been awful busy with work all summer. Hoping I dont get called in tomorrow, I must post the team news @ 2pm!!!

    EDIT: 8cdc13cdb13a5272f9aaf7c30442610c.png

    Cech

    Bellerin Clyne Azpil

    Walcott Hazard Wijnaldum Puncheon

    Pellé Berahino Benteke

    Hennessy Taylor Targett Tioté

Loads of dosh in the bank for Aguero.....Any thoughts?

Lots of Cash in the bank is fair enough but you might want to put a little more on the pitch and upgrade Berahino for example.

You have 2 x 4.0 defenders on the team and this is a bit risky as you will most likely need to bring in at least one 4.5 and that's a pure waste of a FT.

Are you a closet NUFC fan ? I like your gini pick. I think he will shine this season.

Going for Puncheon as well might be a little risky as Palace have a tough enough run of games. I'd upgrade one of them (solely from a run of games perspective as I think both could have good seasons)

A LOT of Man U. Spread the risk around a bit. Siggy is not nailed on to start. For 7.5 you need to be sure.

    The rest looks fairly balanced

Will look to get kane into my team later with the news that Romero could be starting in goal.

this De gea mess has me nervous about Darmian now though....maybe I shud switch to mertesacker?

I'm avoiding Man U defence until I see how Romero does. I like the look of both Shaw and Darmian but at the moment .........

You have plenty of other good 5.5 options out there.

What if they're on the same team though ;) ? Or worse, what if he goes and can't play ? :O

Thanks for that. I am a bit of a closet NUFC fan to be honest. Janmaat served me very well as a cheap back last yr and Tim Krul has been kind to me too. I think Wijnaldum is the one i will keep, been a fan of his for a while. I will ditch Puncheon or Berahino or both.

OK choice A Puncheon and Berahino for Henderson and Kane
    B Puncheon for Silva
    C Berahino for Kane

I'd go with A myself. Newcastle fan myself, not a single player on my team yet though, which is a sad indictment of the last few seasons :( hopefully this will be a good year though :)

    Edging close to the final call!! Here is what I've got;

    Courtois Hennessey

Jagielka O' Shea Azp Mertesacker Targett

    Sterling Hazard Ozil Henderson Wanyama

    Rooney Pelle Deeney.

It give me a spread of 10 teams as follows; Chelsea 3, South 3, Ars 2, ManC 1, ManU 1, Eve 1, Liv 1, C.P 1, Sunder 1, and Watford 1. Fairly happy with my midfield. Has anyone any suggestions on how to improve it overall?

definitely go with Bellerin over Mertz, same price but I would rate Bellerin higher.

Can you afford the 0.5 more for van Aanholt over O'Shea

This is my "final" draft. No money left but fairly happy. Any room for improvement?

I'd look at changing Jagielka as I don't see too many clean sheets in their immediate future.

O'Shea is not nailed on so I would change him.

Deeney/Wilson its a tough call. Wilson has the better schedule of games, Deeney takes penalties and is nailed on.

The rest of your side looks good.

I'd change your formation to 3-4-3 and swap out Jagielka.

I could be wrong but it looks like you're only planning for GW1 with a soft opener for Everton, but they have a tough run after that.

I'd fancy Henderson to do more damage from set pieces, assists than Jagielka most weeks.

Nice attack. Kane might do well against Romero.

Yeah, I have Kane, thinking of shipping out Shaw now especially as Blind most likely to be playing CB. Pity Sam Johnstone isn't listed on FPL site. He would've been handy as a sub for a low fee.

Urgh hope Romero isn't in goal anyway. Will keep Depay and am now seriously considering captaining Kane..:(

You not going to chance Wijnaldum? He scored for you pre-season too.

I also don't know about any Newcastle players. Pretty sure they have a tough schedule but as a Newcastle fan I do expect Wij to be very good and hopefully pop up with a few goals.

How has de Jong been playing pre-season? He could be a sneaky option if Newcastle hit a run of good form and he isn't broken like last season I think?

I really like the look of that, maybe aside from Siggy.

Reasonably happy. I have £4m banked, so will be looking to upgrade on Wilson for the time being, but ultimately getting in Aguero in a few weeks time.

Others I am questioning is having 2 Arsenal players in Ox and Walcott. By all accounts Ox had a great pre season, but it would be just like Wenger to bench him Sunday. If I were to change him, Ibe is a very low £5m opening up another £1m for me.

I am not altogether happy with the defence, hut my head is sore from tinkering at this stage.

EDIT: Jesus H, just noticed they are ALL at home

I'll be keeping close tabs on him. He's been excellent in pre-season but unfortunately I think he'll have to put in too much of a shift trying to shore up our defence to attack much. (We desperately needed to buy 2 good CB's but only bought one)

Hopefully when Mbemba gets up to speed this will give Gini the platform to maraud.

Very true, fingers crossed they'll get through the first 10 games without getting destroyed.

Could swap Jag out for Shaw or Darmain. There isn't many appealing options in that price range. Although with talk of Romero in goals it might not be the best move.

Interesting team. A lot of differentials going on there.

    GK

I think Schmeichel will do well - I have him myself.

    Def -

Wasilewski yellow card threat and potential rotation threat. Huth is nailed on.

O'Shea - Not nailed on, maybe go for Coates.

    Mid

I think Ox will play he might only get 60 mins though. But his confidence is up.

Affelay -Interesting he could do well, if you're going for Johnson though maybe spread the risk to Norwich and Redmond

    Att.

Bamford - I think he could have a great season. He's on loan though so will Wickham potentially get more minutes ? In terms of form though Bamford all the way at the moment.

As I said at the start - Interesting - you're taking a fair few punts but you have enough in the Bank to jump on the crest of the wave rather than flounder in the wake.

    I'm done
sticking with what I had including darmian . if I take him out so late in the day and he delivers clean sheets and attacking points I'll be sickened
ive a fair few punts, all of whom could be explosive or complete duds! I'll settle for a mix :D
not posting my team again as there are eyes on this forum. .lurkers lurkers everywhere
