Could swap Jag out for Shaw or Darmain. There isn't many appealing options in that price range. Although with talk of Romero in goals it might not be the best move.

It's a fair point. After this weekend you could look at Cresswell for Westham or Trippier for Spurs. Both should have good seasons and attack well.

Spurs have a nice run after this weekend.

sticking with what I had including darmian . if I take him out so late in the day and he delivers clean sheets and attacking points I'll be sickened
ive a fair few punts, all of whom could be explosive or complete duds! I'll settle for a mix :D
not posting my team again as there are eyes on this forum. .lurkers lurkers everywhere

Yesh, at some point we need to take a breath and step away!

You remember that Simpsons episode where they were all saying "Monorail, Monorail.."

Just to mess with your head change it to "Bellerin, Bellerin...." ;)

    Nice team!

    2 things of note.
    1. 10.0 on keepers is excessive. Downgrade Butland to a 4.0. I imagine you won't be benching Courtois ever.

    2. Shelvey won't score big points often. Maybe with the 0.5 saved from the keepers you could potentially upgrade to soneone more attack focused.

Exactly, You could get a 4.0 Keeper, downgrade Shelvey to a 4.5 mid and replace Ritchie with Mane. (If you're not looking at playing a 3-5-2 that is)

So defence is alright then? I was worried I had no big hitters there.

Yeah, I plan on using Courtois everyweek, who's a 4.0 keeper who will play?

I kinda bought into the hype of Ritchie so want to hold onto him.

Formation will mainly be 3-4-3 depending on fixtures.

Any Tips from anyone on this? I must be on my 100th iteration at this stage.
    6ItXE.jpg
0.5 in the bank, Fletcher in midfield I think is my big problem, but there arent very many midfielders to choose from at £5m or less, and he'll start every week.

I wouldn't be worried so much about big hitters, for me it would be how well the rotations work. Looking at the 5 teams covered by your defenders, 4 out of 5 play away from home in GWs 2, 4 and 6, which isn't ideal. Maybe a Bournemouth or Southampton defender could provide better rotation options.

Unfortunately there are no guaranteed long-term 4.0 starters. One of Hennessey/McCarthy will start for Crystal Palace in the absence of Speroni for the first week or two. After that they will be back on the bench again.

This is my "final" draft. No money left but fairly happy. Any room for improvement?

    LsdSpKs.jpg

Hmmm.. I like this team a lot. Prob the best I've seen in here so far.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. First draft:

    Courtois

    Clyne - Ivanovic - Fonte

    Hazard - Sterling - Walcott - Brady

    Rooney - Lukaku - Deeney

    Bench
    Hennessy - Gomez - Saylor - Gnabry

Will Gnabry get a start with WBA?

    This team

    Crystal Palace Hennessey Goalkeeper
    Stoke Butland Goalkeeper
    Bournemouth Mings Defender £4.5
    Arsenal Bellerín Defender £5.5
    Chelsea Ivanovic Defender £7.0
    Spurs Trippier Defender £5.5
    Man Utd Darmian Defender £5.5
    Southampton Mané Midfielder £8.0
    Chelsea Hazard Midfielder £11.5
    Arsenal Gnabry Midfielder £5.0
    Man Utd Depay Midfielder £8.5
    West Brom Fletcher Midfielder £4.5
    West Brom Berahino Forward £6.5
    Liverpool Benteke Forward £8.5
    Man Utd Rooney Forward £10.5

    Or this team?

    Crystal Palace Hennessey Goalkeeper
    Stoke Butland Goalkeeper
    Man Utd Shaw Defender
    Arsenal Bellerín Defender
    Chelsea Ivanovic Defender
    Chelsea Azpilicueta Defender
    Man Utd Darmian Defender
    Man City Sterling Midfielder
    Chelsea Hazard Midfielder
    Liverpool Ibe Midfielder
    Arsenal Walcott Midfielder
    West Brom Fletcher Midfielder
    Arsenal Giroud Forward
    Liverpool Benteke Forward
    Watford Deeney Forward

Perhaps if you see faults in either side you could highlight them, i know the second team is top heavy with expensive defenders so playing 5-3-2, the other is 4-3-3

Any help please my head is done in..

    Schmeichel

    Rooney - Deeney

    Bench
    Hennessy - Huth - Wanyama - Sakho

First draft with .5 left in the bank.

Not too sure about Puncheon, Henderson and Ayew but figure they have good fixtures and could be worth the punt (especially Henderson who'll want to make an impression as captain and reverse the result from Stoke last season).

Also maybe switching out one of the Sunderland players would be a prudent move.

I'm thinking this squad now I expect Chelsea keep clean sheet so doubled up on Def thus week with Ivan captain. I'm thinking it's easier to pick a clean sheet than a goal scorer. But still need second opinions

Banking on clean sheets at the start of the season is a risky strategy.

Hull, Villa, Spurs and City were the only teams that managed it in GW1 last season.

Right this is the one... any thoughts

    Schmeichel

    Huth - Ivanovic - Koscielny - Darmian

    Hazard - Sterling - Ramsey - Ritchie

    Rooney - Benteke

    Bench
    Hennessy-Deeney - Francis - Wanyama

The Aguero news has me thinking:
    Mignolet/Ruddy

    Mertesacker/Huth/Coates/Mings/Targett
    Fabregas, Ozil, Mane, Henderson, Ritchie
    Aguero, Rooney, Deeney.

That would be Cedric, Sterling, Pelle and Benteke out for Targett, Mane, Deeney and Aguero.

    Decisions, decisions

1m in the bank to do Wilson to Sakho next week. Thought I had my final draft nailed, this bloody game.

How I wish I could bring myself to drop Hazard to Fabregas!

That 2.5m would make life so much easier!

For Henderson in your team read Fletcher in mine and Saylor instead of Targett

in before Shelvey scores two 50 yard screamers in his first game.....

I can probably afford aguero and still keep a similar team plan but it would mean losing ivanovic for a cheapie, sahko for deeney and probably Walcott for cazorla........not sure I want to
every single year Ivan stays in my team till the friday evening and I ship him out for funds........also lose benteke for aguero......
aguero ownership 12.5% with pulis then jose bus
    I'm gonna chance leaving him!

Not that I am trying to persuade you but....

...assuming Aguero stays fit there is only really tomorrow and one other GW that you might captain Hazard between now and GW 10, so the question is will Hazard and Fletcher outscore Fabregas and Henderson in that time? Maybe, but its by no means a guarantee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,071 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

    Ruddy (Rudd)
    Ivan, Bellerin, Yoshia (4.0,4.0)
    Ritchie, Walcott, Fab, Depay, Mane
    AGUERO, Tekkers (4.5)

Slightly worried about the bargain basement bench. I'll be lucky to have 1 playing sub. I might go with it for the first 2 GW's though until I see what cheapies look like playing. Ivan can go to Dave to get me another playing sub (or two) but my gut is saying to keep him for the time being.
Clyne is tempting me but Bellerin wins out for now.
Am worried about Aguero's (13%) price going through the roof if he gets any amount of points in the first 2 GW's.

    That's a very solid point.

I felt I weakened my team too much by having to fit in Aguero and my latest hair brained idea of Mane so now with Fabregas instead of Hazard I am back to the same team I had and was happy with but now with Mane/Aguero instead of Sterling/Pelle

Wonder how many more times will I change it this evening.

I'm just much more content with Sergio in my team. The whole balance even seems to be better, to my mind anyway :)

    Q3qc151.jpg?1

I still have issues over my defenders in terms of personnel but relatively solid for relatively cheap.

Midfield seems more balanced too with 2 big hitters in Walcott and Fab and 2 important players for their clubs in Chadli and Henderbus. When you look at GW2 their addition brings a greater harmony to things!

Aguero even with 30 minutes can score points, he's proven that and it saves a mad scramble and points hits. This is reinforced by the fact that there are supreme questions hanging over ever other top range forward too. Costa/Giroud/Lukaku/Benteke and perhaps Kane. Throw Pelle into that mix too with Europa if you want but I just like him for the first month or 2 of the season.

Ings, Senderos, Taylor and Graham aren't guarenteed starters. Cahill not worth the extra .5 over Azpi. Jagielka has poor fixtures and Schneiderlin is not a good FPL player. Would prefer an Arsenal defender to Clyne due to Pool's difficult away fixtures. Too much spent on defence which could be used to improve your bench.
