But they've inadvertently done this by not allowing her to speak

Of course they have and we shouldn't have expected anything less from the incompetent hypocrites.

at first, I thought it was a load of crap, but the report I read on the link on here said that they dont let any deceased inductee have a family member speak on their behalf. They show videos of all inductees, but deceased ones get a video that is 2 minutes longer.

I can see how in Seaus case it will cause upset, but its not as if they are specifically targeting them to stop them talking.

It probably highlights how they should reverse its protocol and let deceased members have a family member talk them in.

They say they have had this policy since 2010.
In the past, for deceased inductees, presenters spoke, but Joe Horrigan, a spokesman for the Hall who has overseen the enshrinement ceremony for 20 years, said they often repeated what was in the video, prolonging an already lengthy ceremony. So a few years ago, the Hall eliminated speeches in these cases.

“There was an acceptance speech for deceased players, but it got redundant,” Horrigan said. “The honor is supposed to be for the individual.”

He wanted his daughter to present him, that should be the end of it as far as I'm concerned. Also I'm sure his daughter repeating what is in the video is the last thing they are worried about.

The Dolphins have signed free agent josh freeman. Right okay then. Bit like a cat playing with a mouse.

It doesn't get mentioned all too often that he is possibly the finest example of wasted potential of the last decade (if we don't count Jamarcus Russell, who likely never had the potential for the professional game anyway). By-the-numbers his second season was incredible, Pro Bowl level and bordering on All Pro (25 TDs to 6 INTs, 61% completion at 7.3 per attempt for 3,450 yards). Then the year after was a write off, but in 2012 his overall play was not too bad, just needed to increase his accuracy and cut down on the INTs (but he still had 27 TDs and 7.3 YPA, as well as over 4,000 yards passing).

Then the whole Greg Schiano debacle kicked off, he lost his starting spot, was traded, and in the two years since has only played one game (early in his time at the Vikings). In a league so desperate for good QB play he has shown glimpses, and even extended runs of quality play, and a proven ability to get yards and TDs on top of being good for a few hundred yards rushing. But nobody, not Cleveland nor Arizona in their QB crisis last year, not Houston nor St. Louis when Bradford went down, not Washington nor the Jets or even Buffalo, have shown much of any interest. Even for teams with a definitive starter for Freeman to re-establish himself under and to use as possible trade bait down the line, there has been essentially zero interest.

I know there were reports of substance abuse, but it is just surprising to me to see so little interest in him given how good he was in 2010, and that he was still showing signs of 'having it' in 2012 after a down year in 2011.

in fairness the last few starts (albeit they where a while ago) he looked really really bad even accounting for new system/not knowing his receivers some of his throws where just atrocious.

Oh yeah I know that, it's just surprising still though to see hardly any teams seem even remotely in taking a punt on him. Then again, maybe they did and his lack of focus down the years has just destroyed his ability to read the field on top of rusty mechanics.

iv become a lot happier with the lesean mccoy trade. at the time i was pretty annoyed with it but he's kind of proven chip kelly right since then he will be the eagles all time leading rusher for some time i would imagine and i will always appreciate what he did for the organisation but its amazing how quickly he's managed to lose a fan base that loved him. similar to desean jackson for that matter.

the saints junior galette story is mad i can't see him being picked up by any team after those rants........except for the cowboys/bills seems like either of those organisations would go for him.

i didn't realise mickey loomis was the gm for both the saints and the pelicans thats a terrible idea on tom bensons part i think being a coach/gm is a massive workload for someone but having jobs that span two sports is crazy.

also i was listening to a podcast a few weeks ago and they pointed out how poor jeff fishers career has been 14 of his 20 years have had a .500 record or worse but he seems to get no **** off of the media. is there another coach as fortunate as him? jason garrett maby but thats been over a far far shorter period and i think he has his share of detractors. tom coughlin has won two superbowls so i guess its fair enough that he gets leeway but fisher i dont get. lovie smith may be as bad?

He's not the GM for the Pelicans he's the head of basketball operations which essentially means that he reviews the work of the GM. I don't think it would be much of a job tbh. I'd say Benson just trusts Loomis and wants to keep him in New Orleans. Demps is the VP of the Pelicans anyway so I doubt Loomis has much say in what Demps does.

Read that a day or two back. It merits an outright boycott if you ask me, but the real shame here is it will only cause disgruntlement among some, and will be forgotten about around 48 hours after the inductions are done. Nothing short of disgusting, but who ever accused the NFL/HOF of having values? They just demand that of their employees (or at least to not get caught otherwise, say like in an elevator). It's funny and depressing when the guys at the top are often held to a different, and significantly lower, standard than those below them.

Bit harsh to be honest. The Hall of Fame have had this rule for a while and Seau isn't the first persons who's family were not allowed speak on his behalf. Obviously because of Seau's history and his families with the NFL it's easy to just say that the NFL is only disallowing it purely because of that.

It's an award to honour a player, a player who said if he made it in he wanted his daughter to induct him, hardly honouring said player

Seau doesn't get to make the rules though so what he wanted isn't really relative. This rule has been in place before Seau was inducted.

Dontari Poe has undergone back surgery and is out indefinitely. Reid says he's hopefully he can get back before the end of the season. Massive blow for the Chiefs.

Le'Veon Bell's suspension has been reduced from 3 to 2 games so he misses the opener @ New England and vs 49ers and returns for the game at the Rams. Makes him a lot more appealing in fantasy too!

Dolphins resign Fitzpatrick just before news of Brady's suspension, I don't think that's a coincidence...

Loved the Tampa one. Laughed a fair bit. The fans comments are nearly better than the articles at times.

"I am the idiot who spent $250 on an opening day ticket so I can watch Rodgers personally fist **** every last one of our players as Cutler and his unvaccinated family sit on a mountain of money. I’ve basically paid to watch the team I love bukkake all over my childhood."
