Just watched the macho flair match from WM8. What.a.match I mean the two in the ring, Heenan on commentary is a god, perfect being a complete dick.the crowd was red hot. It was just amazing. The post match interviews were brilliant as well.

If you haven't watched it then watch it.

The WWE app on android has the WWE Network. I'm finding the stream quality to be poor despite having fast internet. Any ideas?

I have found the network on android devices to he abysmal quality since launch.

On my WiFi connection the network on my android is usually fine but can be a bit hectic sometimes. I find that out of my ps4, laptop and phone that the laptop is the most unreliable and the phone can be so-so while my ps4 is perfect all the time even though they're all on the same connection and same room of the house.

Just watched this week's edition of Superstars. I had begun to watch it earlier on today and the quality was shocking, it kept freezing for 2 or 3 minutes every time that it played for about 5 seconds. Then I just switched it on again there and it was perfect after a minute.

Watching the 2002 royal rumble and my god but Stacey Kiebler was one naturally gorgeous looking woman. I can't wait till the rumble match itself to see mavens career highlight. In case you're wondering it was eliminating taker and then getting battered all over the Philips arena.

Loved Mr Perfect's return at that Rumble!

No, only Tough Talk (the post show). However the show is available for free for us on YouTube the day afterwards. Watch it quick though as they make it private again a day or so later.

It was supposed to be a Network exclusive but they managed to get USA Network to bite.

Another few 1997 Raws added. The Wrestlemania 13 go-home show is on there now replete with full uncensored Bret Hart promo.

They seem to have started adding more raws from 99 as well.

Hopefully they have stopped adding 1 or 2 old raws a week and are just adding everything as quickly as possible up to 2003 :D

Hope the Hogan stuff dosent prevent them from adding more Nitros at some point. I know they put up stuff with Benoit but its just this thing just happened with Hogan and they might shelf any plans they had.

I'm thinking they put the same thing at the start like with Benoit.

It's does seem like they are finally copping on and adding more episodes of RAW each week because there is probably a huge demand for RAW episodes.

Just 4 more raws left to add for 1997 :D

They're flying along with the 99 Raws as well.

The quicker they get to 2000 the better.

Full year of 97 and 2000 raws (smackdowns as well for 2000) and Ill be happy!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Ageyev

I'm guessing the Raws being added at the pace they have been the last week is because they have an investor call tomorrow and the post-Summerslam to January business period has always dropped off in terms of Tv ratings and PPV buys traditionally.

I'm happy they're banging through these RAW uploads. That said, once they're finished with RAW that's pretty much it. PPVs, SNME & COTC, that's almost everything already! Personally I want some Russo-era Nitro & Thunders!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Ageyev

Still loads of Smackdown to upload, about three years of ECW TV plus non-PVP supershows, ECW 2006 and waaaaay down the list is all that territory stuff from the 80s as well as SMW.

Still 10+ years worth of raw and smackdowns to add

4+ years of nitro and 3 years worth of thunders. Same with ecw tv.

They can still add plenty of wwf superstars, wcw Saturday night etc.

    Still plenty :P

    I loved Shotgun Saturday Night!

It was bizarre. I don't think they made much money on it, it didn't last very long, there were few to no angles or matches pertinent to feuds on Raw and PPV and the wrestlers weren't happy with having to work in New York (expensive for transportation and accommodation) for such low payoffs. It was only a syndicated show kinda designed to emulate the hot ECW type crowds of the time. Fascinatingly bizarre.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter's take on it at the time:
The debut of Shotgun Saturday Night on 1/4 was largely a flop content and reaction-wise. The show didn't air in this market but the reaction was 100% negative by those who called and faxed and strongly negative for that matter.

    ...

First show was from the Mirage, a New York night club, and drew 350 fans and a $6,000 house (they had talked about a 3,000 capacity for the show) as they charged $20 to get in the door for a risque comedic show that wasn't funny according to the reports we received. With all the hype nationally over the week before the show about the debut taping at the Mirage, that kind of a turnout was pathetic. Next week at the All-Star Cafe the show is going to be free admission and because it's in a theme restaurant as opposed to a bar, the show will be less risque. The third show on 1/18 will be done live at 9 p.m. Central time in San Antonio from a bar there. The show was apparently like watching a poorly-lit minor league promotional cross between Incredibly Strange Wrestling and "Grunt: The Wrestling movie" but with bigger name stars.

    ...

My impressions of the first Shotgun show. It looked like a public access wrestling TV show, which I don't think is the intention. Bob Backlund was a riot but he wasn't enough to carry an entire show. Most of the skits didn't work. The deal where Todd Pettingill changed the words to Macarena to do the Mascarita wasn't the slightest bit racist as I'd been led to believe, but it also didn't work. Mascarita did debut the corkscrew plancha on American TV but it was in a setting and done at a time (just back from a commercial break) where it meant nothing.

I would love to see Sunday Night Heat and Velocity be added since full episodes have always been hard to find/watch online.

The May 24 1999 Raw episode the night after Owen Hart died has been added. Not an easy watch and I haven't seen it since it aired.

Any noteworthy episodes you'd be first to check out?

I'd love to check out the US version of Heat. They were a third hour of Raw essentially for the first year of the show instead of the C shows with jobbers we got over here.

From about Summerslam 98 until the Fall Smackdown debut Heat served as the PPV pre-show and they often ran pre-show angles, the highlights of which usually replayed on the main show.

The network number came in at about 100,000 people more than was forecasted by experts. In other words there wasn't a huge post Wrestlemania drop off:
