    can you fit existing doors with these self closer devices? Where can you get them? Is it a DIY job or must it be done as part of attic conversion?

    You have to retrofit the existing doors with the self closing devices at the same time as doing the attic conversion.

    I'm sure its a DIY job for some, for me, no, I'd set the house on fire if I got my hands on a drill!

    whoever is signing off on the attic conversion should not do so until the devices are fitted in place.
