Would you not consider getting rid of the mondeo and focus and then buy one of them or similar or do you have an actual need for the two cars.

No I'd stick with 2. There's always someone in need of the other one, family, etc.

    That's life I suppose... ;)

Those ford 2 litre diesels are quite poor on fuel tbh.

Are ya serious? The reviews all say around 50 to the gallon combined.

You'll need your vin number. The prices are very accurate.

Cheers! Air and oil filter came out at around €17 (ex. VAT I presume). Similar enough to what I'd pay on Micksgarage :pac:

It helps driving a 1.0 Yaris! 3.2 litres, cheap maintenance. It's been unbelievably reliable so far and I give it heaps of abuse.

Does anyone know how much genuine Toyota filters (air, oil and pollen) would set me back from a dealership for a 1999 Yaris 1.0? Or better yet is there any way to find out prices of parts from Toyota?

It's been a few years, but Toyota genuine parts used to be fairly cheap, filters etc were almost the same price as spurious.

Does anyone know how much an independent motor assessor would charge? I cannot decide if it's worthwhile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 472 ✭✭Staph

It cost me about €150 to get an assessment from Assess Ireland.

How old is the car? There's a whole thread dedicated to this nonsense.

Wow, and I thought me getting a renewal quote of €1112.60 (up from €950) on a 14 year old Punto at 20, also with 2 years NCB was bad.

    WTF is the beef here?

CIP4 - aha, clean in place?

Yep I'm surprised you guessed it. I couldn't think of any decent usernames to use.

Anyway that's about it I'm back to talk about cars. Try and help out on some of the car DIY maintenance threads and get answers to some of my own motoring questions that's it. Sure I suppose if people have issues with me being back report it to a moderator.

Ah tbh that thread was only part of the reason had been planning to leave months beforehand. I was just a bit too caught up in the whole thing. But having been away for a few months it really is a great resource to have and I missed hearing from all you regulars about your cars too :)

Ah Ye not to bad. It needs a few bits sure you know it being a Renault and all; 3 key cards old ones broke, 4 injector and a fuel pump because they gave bother in the 2003 ones and 16 window regulator I just change them weekly :pac:

Ah no I haven't spent anything on it since getting it have 7k km on it. It went back to the garage to get a new front passenger wheel bearing I think I was saying that here before. What was suppose to be a straight job turned into a pig of a job. First they couldn't get the abs sensor of the the bearing itself was a bastard to get changed then there was some issue reassembling it took 4 hours and that was there head mechanic doing it who I know well and he is seriously good but it was just hardship. Anyway it's sooooo quite now everyone that gets in comments on how quite it is. Hopefully now I won't have too many issue for the next while anyway.
