    mbna were a great crowd, when avant took over it became a nightmare, couldn't contact them, get statements online, use online correspondence, then they increased the rate from 14% to 24% and said if you don't like it, clear the balance...

    glad to be away from them

    Are they charging the 25% interest rate on the government levy too? I would have thought that this was a fixed amount that the same interest rate couldn't be attached to seeing as the goverment wouldn't be getting it with the same interest.

    I think he cleared the debt but never confirmed the fees etc..stuck his head in the sand.

    I cleared an AIB credit card a few years back and got them to put it in writing with the final balance etc before i paid...they contacted me 1 month later claiming they worked the total out wrong and wanted an extra 300 from me..i directed them to their correspondence they previously sent and put the phone down. I never understand why people make assumptions when it comes to personal finance.
