Yep, they are also extremely pro life, want to bring in national service for all young people and believe a woman's place is in the home. Their Facebook page is a hoot of racist, homophobic crap.
Good to see that Christian fundamentalism is alive and well in Ireland!

What line do you draw then?
I don't draw lines; the Govt. has legislation. If I did "draw" lines, the difference between legal and illegal wouldn't be based on what I find to be personally offensive.

Is it acceptable to deny the holocaust and agitate for racial war? Or should there be laws to prevent hate speech?

Is denying the holocaust illegal?! (I think in Germany and Austria, people can be sanctioned but what about Ireland?) Does someone denying the holocaust mean it didn't happen? Does denying the holocaust mean that it will definitely happen again? If denying the holocaust is so bad, what's your stance on the anti-Israel internet-fad that resurfaces every few months?

Who is agitating for a racial war? Islam isn't a race. CPP want to oppose the building of a mosque. They are attempting to do this by lodging an objection to Kerry CC when planning permission is sought. Perfectly legal means.

I don't know Irish Laws relating to "hate speech". If they are implemented to prevent incitement to illegal actions against people, then they will be a good thing. If they are used by a group to silence opponents who dare criticise them or their movement, well...

What do you expect when they say "Anal sex is against the laws of God and nature" or "Serves this idiot libtard right. There is a very good reason why God ordained that negros be located in Africa...."
Is the anus a sexual organ? Actually, don't answer. Some mod will card me for taking the thread 'off topic'...
As for the "libtard"...well...if he had a gun, would he have been stabbed 30-40 times? (I know I wouldn't but that's me...I'm not afraid of guns)

Was that second para. directed towards me also? It made little sense.

Perhaps because I'm out foreign at the moment, I read this thread as "...group protests mosquito in Kerry" and I thought, "Fcuk it, the little bollixes are everywhere"

Do you want us to have the same murder rate as the US? Actually don't answer that, some gun nut might try to track me down and shoot me for questioning the safety of guns.

Oh, this victim card is just sooooo much fun to play!! :)

You really expect people to take a group seriously who think the laws of their god matter?

And people say its the muslims we need to watch out for.

I don't draw lines; the Govt. has legislation.
And i have already posted the legislation, some of their racial posts are incitement to hatred as far I can call, of course the legislation is weak, and in my view should be strengthened.
f I did "draw" lines, the difference between legal and illegal wouldn't be based on what I find to be personally offensive.

Where did I say that I believed it should be? I'm not personally offended, I'm disgusted at the propagation of hate speech in society, it's something no society should tolerate.
Is denying the holocaust illegal?! (I think in Germany and Austria, people can be sanctioned but what about Ireland?) Does someone denying the holocaust mean it didn't happen? Does denying the holocaust mean that it will definitely happen again?

Not in Ireland, however FB has global reach, so it clearly breaches the law in some EU states as you have pointed out.
If denying the holocaust is so bad, what's your stance on the anti-Israel internet-fad that resurfaces every few months?

I try not to pay attention, but having had some business dealings with Palastinians, I have huge sympathy for the conditions there and the struggle against Israel - but that's OT.
Who is agitating for a racial war? Islam isn't a race. CPP want to oppose the building of a mosque. They are attempting to do this by lodging an objection to Kerry CC when planning permission is sought. Perfectly legal means.

Did you miss the posts on the facebook page linked to above?

But racial hate groups are sly when it comes to propaganda, nothing that appears illegal but the scaremongering and race baiting is clear to see.
Try this gem on their Dublin page:

I don't know Irish Laws relating to "hate speech". If they are implemented to prevent incitement to illegal actions against people, then they will be a good thing. If they are used by a group to silence opponents who dare criticise them or their movement, well...

Depends if the group is associated with any of the nine grounds of discrimination in my view. Clearly the law needs to be strengthened, and the trend towards "offence" laws is a bad thing; I don't want groups like this sanctioned because I'm offended, they should be sanctioned because any decent, normal society finds this behaviour unacceptable.

Personally I can't wait for the muslims to take over. I'll be the first to convert. I'm going to take full advantage of it. I'll come home and wife no 1 will be making dinner, wife no 2 will give me a massage, wife no 3 will get 40 lashes for dressing immodestly.

    Praise Allah.

Can we put this nonsense to bed please?

Discrimination laws in Ireland have nine grounds, two of them race and religious belief.

Your statement is as nonsensical in this debate as it is to say "women, not a religion - therefore they cannot be discriminated against"

    Hate speech is free speech

People shouldn't be put in prison for hurting other people's feelings

Details f***ing shmetails. It's so much more fun to pretend to ourselves that all Muslims are involved anything negative, even if only a small minority do that (demographics and statistics be damned). But don't you dare do that with Christians... or else!!

The Islamic Republic of Ireland. I trust you will be submitting to will of Allah too. Or will I have to report you to the morality police? Because I will.

Group repeatedly propagates hate speech that advocates burning churches, a church is burnt and 12 people die. Does the group have any responsibility in your view?

Free speech does not equal the right to spur people to illegal acts of violence against innocent people.

That's why neither the Republic nor the UK 'want' NI...too much hatred and a reluctance to let it go.

man cuts soldiers head off in London; Parisian magazine office workers shot up; tourists on beach gunned down; rogue group, with intentions of forming new state demolish antiquity, behead civilians (men, women and children) and force children to execute soldiers publicly....yes, that sounds like the work of Christians/Jews/Buddhists/Hindu's/

Without even going into the other three religions listed there, just go and look up the Lord's Resistance Army, Eastern Lightning, The Army of God, The National Liberation Front of Tripura, the white supremacist Phineas Priesthood, the murder of abortion doctors and bombing of Planned Parenthood clinics in the US, the Atlanta Olympic bombings, and so on and so on.

Do you remember the massacre of six American Sikhs in their temple in 2012?
What about the 15+ year long harassment of George Tiller, ending in his murder in 2009?
What about the guy who shot up the church full of kids in Tennessee as a 'protest' against abortion?
Or when that airplane was flown into an IRS building?

Are they ringing any bells? All of these happened in the last few years alone. If you have not, don't worry... when Christians do it, it's "a sole nut job" or "cultist offshoot" or whatnot. When Muslims do it, it's "a Muslim terrorist group".

If Christians want to hold others up to a standard, the very least they could do is make sure we hit that minimum standards themselves.

There's pages seperated by county too. I count at least 10k likes roughly, probably some overlaps too ofc. I really thought as an open nation we would be past this. Clearly a minority of dumbasses.

10k is nothing when you think about it..its just like one town full of crazy people in the whole country

The 10k is from across the country, and probably abroad too. 10k would be approximately half the population of Tralee.

Thank the Celtic gods that stopping them from having a mosque will prevent all of that from happening here. I was a bit worried about who would hate "protect" us from the gays, women and black people but it seems they have volunteered to ensure gods law is our law. I hope we both get a chance to show out support. I'll start making a few wooden t's we can burn in the black peoples gardens. They stand for "time to go". Could you go and get us some ghost costumes?

The airplane was flown into the IRS building in Austin, TX, 2010 by AJ Stack. He left behind a rant about taxation, Govt. and big businesses. No mention or affiliation with Christian group.
The Sikh temple was attacked by a white-supremacist...no mention or affiliation with a Christian group.
The Knoxville shooting, according to Wikip. was "a politically motivated fatal shooting". The investigating officers, ah why bother schooling you..
George Tiller: Roeder had one known meeting with Army of God founder. All right, we'll give you that one on account of your efforts. Tiller was shot as he left church.
    Oh those Christians!

I am neither Christian nor Muslim but this attempt at whataboutary is weak beer. If you were to divide Christian atrocities by Muslim atrocities in the mast decade it would round down to zero percent.

Are you feeling okay? Your posts make less sense the more you write. You seem to confuse supporting an organisation's right to protest with supporting the organisation. If you can maintain intelligent conversation, I will continue replying to you...
