Are one of the RAF Hawks defecting to a neutral country?

Coming close to the Wicklow coast.

    A rogue plot!

It's surprising that this slipped thru the FR24 filters.

It's ZK023 and is currently West of Anglesea

Shannon was designated an alternative landing site during the Space Shuttle programme. I believe it can handle most anything you put to it.

Anyone got any idea when the Delta 747 will be departing again?

Aeromexico 787 landed with a suspected fire on board and was removed from the RWY immediately, yet it took over a day to leave. I'd say the delta will be there a while.

I'd like to see you try landing a 747 in Waterford! :D

Having said that, an old Qantas 747 went to an aviation museum somewhere in Australia lately, and the runway there was similar in length to WAT's. Of course it had no weight on board, but it was interesting to see it could be done nevertheless!

Ah here. Shannon is a dormitory town with little or no facilities outside the town center. People use the airport to get to Clare/Limerick and beyond, not to visit Shannon.

Yeah I read about that at the time also, maybe I was reading a thread about WAT too :p Very glad to see you have the LTN and other flights back though! Great airport experience.

Btw if someone's willing to give me a 747 I'd be quite happy to put WAT to the test

Twas planned terribly though, have you seen those apartments near the airport? Hardly adequate housing!
