Our friend was in the Indo today, looks like he got a bit of tan to be fair, he's
not a taxi driver but a Luas driver no less...
'Please send the LE Eithne to get us' - Fearful tourists desperate to return to Ireland from Tunisia...
"The LE Eithne is picking up every Tom, Dick and Harry out of the sea. We're taxpayers, citizens, what about us?"

Ah yes, the obligatory "sad faces" photo, staple of the English tabloids. Shows what direction the Indo have gone of late.

Lets just remind ourselves that this fella and his family got on the plane to fly to Tunisia IN THE FULL KNOWLEDGE that there had been shootings and fatalaties, including one (at the time) Irish citizen.

Why is ANYONE entertaining him???

He's just looking for a free flight home and/or compo

I think Tom, Dick and Harry is stretching it a bit, unless they've been swept out to sea from Brighton.

Assuming the navy/govt jet aren't coming for him, he'd want to learn to put some suncream on his feet while he's there

He clearly hasn't been hiding in his hotel room the whole time.......

See, I knew I shouldn't have clicked on the link to the article.....

<Both Mr Jackson and Ms Kennedy told RTE Radio One's Liveline programme yesterday that they flew out to Tunisia hours after a gun man murdered 38 people on a beach in the popular resort town of Sousse.

The pair said they were unaware of what had happened in the country several hours before boarding their flight.>

Do journalists not have any obligation whatsoever to not tell total lies in their articles?

Not only is this not true, and yer man admitted on Liveline (where the article presumably had its genesis) that he had heard about the shootings in Dublin Airport, and tackled his travel agent about it, and still boarded himself and his family onto the flight anyway - the article then goes on to state exactly that!

*deep breaths - in through the nose, out through the mouth*

I think that's what used to be known as 'corned beef legs' common amongst those who sat too close to the fire, and probably exacerbated by a career of sitting on his driving seat on the LU-Ass.

At 59 years of age he should have learned to zip up his mickey. He had plenty of time to learn.

Well I had an image of that "abandoned" man in my head when he was ringing in the udder day and lo and behold it was pretty accurate....except in my head he was skinnier, had more jewellery (namely signet rings) and was wearing either a Celtic or a Man. Utd. jersey.

I love the sad faces despite at least one of them has just gotten out of the pool. So it cant be all that bad

The young girl on the left is just sad her arm is in a cast and has to wear a plastic bag while in the pool. Or else is looking at her dads feet and thinking, Jaysus, I'm not rubbing cream into them tonight.

An hour and fifteen minutes of those who ever even heard him on the radio, saying what a lovely man he was. Nothing against VD, I'm sure he was a grand lad, but this will be Joe fodder.

    Not at all.

More likely to be old lads of 69 being fathers of very young kids looking for home help while looking for compo to get free flights home from Tunisia

..not that the promo is anything to go

Expect a call from an auld wan who runs an animal rescue centre say she looked after Delaneys donkey and Paddy McGintys goat in their old age!:P

As someone who has corrected 3rd Level Papers (though some read more like "turd" level...), I have no issue with that. When you're correcting you're in a "zone" and pretty much oblivious to everything else.

I can imagine some little darling's Mom calling in from Foxrock or Clontarf (:D) ringing in and struggling to retain her composure such is her outrage and disgust at this. Lol.

I think they switch it off when going for the rescues and turn it back on when they are returning to the Italian port with passengers aboard, they do pretty much the same off the Irish coast on fishery patrols.
