Did mine with ectospec while milking this evening. Not overly bad with flies yet but nothing as annoying as fidgety cows.

    Ongoing experiment here Trix....

The odds are greatly ramped up in that house flies spread a filthy bacteria that causes blindness in bovines.
    Feckin dreadful thing.

Bought some Lambdacyhalothrin infused ear tags from USA.
    Banned in EU.
    Will update the results.

Kicking off a cluster is but an inconvenience here....:)

    1. Flat on average around here don't understand the question.
    2. Blanket spread once a month here so everything from freshly grazed to 1400+ covers when applied. Doing this for past couple of years.
    3. Generally bag per acre. Sometimes down to 30 units.
    4. No better or worse than any other fert.

Urea to CAN usage ratio here would be around nine to one for at least the past twenty years.

What do you use to get P&K back into your ground? And when? Is it a matter of feed the plant as much as possible of N during the year and put P&K back later in the year?

Mainly slurry. Went with 15-10-10 on ggs recommendation on first round in February. Put out p&k after first cut. ASN at bag and a half in early April also. Big response to this past two years. Indexes good here, took full advantage of pig slurry allowances a few years ago and got any problem areas sorted before Sr went up. Just trying to maintain them now. I'd be going with p&k early again after this year's trial. I genuinely don't understand people's hang ups about using urea.

are you happy with response to urea in last 3 wks or so........ im not but then is it a moisture issue.

might be a classic case of seeing what one wants too but thought can was getting something moving . put urea on silage ground , cut last wk may, and struggling to see anything over 1000 kg/ha

When ye lads are talking about "urea", do ye mean urea based compound fertilisers or some kind of urea only fertiliser?

    Urea 46%N. No p or k.

Blanket spread urea here on the Tuesday after June bank holiday. Would not have spread the previous week due to lack of moisture. Excellent response. Kept us in grass until now. If we get enough of the forecasted rain over the next few days I might go again but we have a good bit of N spread at this stage.

Is that an organophosphate?? Is there any risk of it showing up in milk?

    Snake oil.
A few tried it around here last year, think it was 15-20£ more expensive per ton?
None used this year just normal urea

Yes. Scan just in front of hind leg at the top of the udder. Can't pd under three months I think. Uses a serious amount of vegetable oil. Definitely less stress on the cow.

Have you contact details of anyone who scans that way?
