If it's a skyline it probably would need a lot of time with mechanic :pac::pac::pac::pac::pac::pac::pac:

Times like this I enjoy being old!
My insurance is around the 280 mark.

Although to be fair the insurance company told me that they would be putting up the insurance "by a lot" next year as it's a 1994 and that's the oldest they will insure

The noise in car sorted. I spent 300eu on bearings and stuff and turns out it was stuck break pad in the back... A clean up and reffiting. 20eu and it's done...
Ah well, at least I did got full gear box, diffs and transfer box serviced.

    What a day!

Bought myself a torque wrench. Decided I'd test it by torquing all my wheel nuts.

Removed all 15 nutes except 1. Had trouble getting it off and snapped the wheel stud

    yaBkydP.jpg?1

    What a mess!!!

Anyway, decided I'll get the brake drum off and half a look. Yep, you guessed it right - the thing is welded on. I doubt this car had the drum brakes shoes ever replaced.

Checked the price of a rear wheel hub on Micksgarage, €160+ euro for a wheel hub for a 1999 Yaris

Can I just replace the wheel stud on a 1999 Yaris?

you should put copper grease on the back of each nut, stops them from sticking.

Absolutely livid so I am. Left the car to get a bearing changed yesterday, collected today. This greeted me, please say it'll polish out?

Another pic. I give up trying to keep my cars well...

It's on the front passenger door.

Chris Evans signed a three year deal for top gear...thought he'd have more sense tbh.

Noccy_Mondy, was that the same garage you bought it from?

No, neighbour is a mechanic, thought he was able to do a simple bearing, obvs not... Can't really go and ask him to fix it either, you know seeing as he's a neighbour. If it was the garage I bought it from, I'd have no bother telling them about it!

Would you travel to Rathoath/Dunboyne area? Only about 10 minutes north of blanchardstown.

My mechanic is in Swords, have used him the past six years

Hold on, what car have you first?

    It's a Mk8 Civic. Not a Skyline, I wish :(

Both of those would be grand, I work just outside Blanch towards Ratoath anyway. Brake pads need done, but there's a lot of rust around one of the wheels, the disc shield is disintegrating, so I kinda want to look at that too.

Ah I was about to ask why you weren't getting them to fix it.

Especially cheeky so if your neighbour knew about it. Even worse if he caused it, which is most likely the case.

I kinda expected this. Be interesting to see the other 2 presenters. Might give the show a fresh feel.

Was the 300 spent trying to fix the noise?

    Good to hear bear.

C'mere to me motors heads, this may seem an odd question...
Sometimes on a cycle in the countryside I get passed by a car that smells like it is running on Lynx rather than petrol or diesel. It's usually a vw diesel. Or there was the sticker bombed opel diesel. I'm assuming diesel in all cases.

So my question is... Is this some diesel additive? Are these people just driving around buzzed off their heads after spraying a tin or more of lynx inside the car? Or do they actually believe in the lynx effect - that women they pass will just go weak at the knees and they can reverse and pick them up?
