Home & feck'n wrecked, took off for the weekend to see how the other half live :D Was as far as Hook Head lighthouse (800 years old would you believe, I didn't...) and Duncannon. Went to the Cat Laughs in Kilkenny last night, seriously hurt yourself level funny from Neil Delamare, Andrew Maxwell, Dom Irrera, James Acaster, Pat Cahill & Deirdre O'Kane. Was in Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford and Tipp :pac:

Saw loads of different farming from hill farming in the Blackstairs to intensive pig outfit in Carlow, loads of dairy, sucklers, sheep, tillage, etc.

I don't get out half often enough :D

Earlier this evening I was at the wake of one of the original genuine cattle dealers and exporters on this island.
A legend that will be remembered. RIP.

I see there's repeat of Donal Lynch (my vet) on Ear to the Ground tonight, a very good vet, good with sheep, came out and did a caesarean on a hogget for €85 this year for me......compare that with last year, when he wasn't available, a different vet charged me €250 at night and killed the lamb, some difference and he wasn't pleased when I wouldn't give him cash.
This years caesarean was after hours too...aren't they always

I figured out a hamdy enough way actually, by pure fluke as well.
I had a 3'' fluffy roller and just wemt from the gable end of it and rolled away to my hearts content. Twas grand.
Weather didn't help though. Piddling here. Stove lit and off to make an omellete

Rangler, I'd be wanting a Belgian Blue heifer caesareaned with a live BB bull calf out of her at that money not a ewe with a dead lamb - Sweet jebus.

I presume he came out to you?
My vet charged me £47 for the only caesar done this year, although in fairness I took her to the surgery.
