Or why run a letter-theme among their kids?

In my family we're all C—— (well one K, but all with C sound)

My sister's twin boys are F—— and F——.

I went to school with three E——'s, all brothers.

I wonder why parents do this.

Trying to think of three boys names beginning with E.... nope....can't do it...

Aside from the relatively exceptional Pocahontas that I mentioned a few pages back... I also think the following are horrendous names, especially for a child (sorry for any offence)

    Aengus/angus/etc.
    Fergus
    Fergal

I knew a girl in college called Mary Jessica. Those two names don't go together.

Growing up in 1980s America, there were lots of kids called Tiffany, Amber, Desiree, Chrystal, ie stripper names. Boys' names that were just sounds- Trent, Brent, Brett, Trey, Chad, Chett, etc.

Frances, in Irish or in English. Bleh.

Yeah, Proinsias sounds like some kind of salty snack food. What would you call him/her for short? Pronchy?

Oh, I also knew a kid called Mortimer. And I went to school with a guy called Kevin Bates. He was only ever called Master Bates, though.

Any of those stupid double names that Irish mothers thought fit to call their daughters back in the 80s, eg

    Mary Elizabeth
    Mary Margaret
    Mary Therese

Nothing about these name combinations sounds right.

My brother went to school with a guy called Proinsias and on his first day at school he came home and told my mum that there was a guy called Crunches in his class.

I've never seen Jaqii, but Jacquie/ Jacqui would be the correct spelling

Have to say any Jacqui/ Jacqueline I ever met was absolutely smoking, I don't care how she spells her name.

Ja. A lad in work recently called his son Jason.

It's not a name in his family or anything.

    Why?.:confused::confused::confused:

Went for a swim and heard a Dad call his son Coy
I thought he must really be fond of goldfish until the slightly better spoken wife called him Kai
Terrible to name the kid after one of Wayne Rooney's, even worse to not be able to pronounce it

I was working night shift about ten years ago in an old job, with three colleagues.
Two brothers called Aeneas & Willie and another chap called Michael. He was commonly referred to as Mickey.
Had a little chuckle to myself that night..:pac:
