In DUB they are landing with a tailwind of up to 10kts. I can hear them commenting on it on ATC. Would they not just switch the runway?

They are doing this now. I think they are going to RWY 16.

    Go around http://www.flightradar24.com/RYR42DP/653a5f2

Edit: I think MDL381 was still on RW16 when RYR42DP was on approach. Could here alarms going off in background of cockpit comms with ATC.

Edit 2: ATC said it was a missed approach (RYR42DP).

I think I heard something about downwind too, though this doesn't mean that was the reason.

Just after the instruction for the Go-around, there was a very quick instruction to MDL381 by Tower. Would have to listen back for what was going on.

Once the archive becomes available I will listen back. I assume it will be available shortly after midnight?

Question : Why do ATC keep telling the planes to continue their approach? Is that not a given?

I think it's to let the flight crew know that they haven't yet got landing clearance.

I was getting worried about this thread for a bit there :D
    I still am.(a little)
Lets try to keep the banter and jokes to a minimum. We do allow a lot of leeway here as just updates would be boring. This is a polite reminder rather than a warning.

While the mods love to see such a hugely active thread which requires very little actually modding, we know some people are more observers than participants in the topic, which is FR24 discussion and monitoring.

A bit surprised to see an EI 330 (EI-DAA) coming in over South Dublin a few minutes ago. Checking FR, it seems it was on the Faro-Dub route and I was wondering if the 330's are regularly used on this route or is this just a once off due to particularly high demand?

Used during the summer months on Tuesday's and Saturdays as far as i know, also used on the Malaga route I think! Just does the one return trip before heading back across the pond!

That was just the arrival queue waiting for parking after landing. Most of my friends had 3hrs from touchdown until parking and disembarking passengers. Almost a 4km line of aircraft

EI have been using the A330 on their summer DUB-AGP-DUB for a few years now.Very popular with the families.
This year they are adding Tuesday and Sunday DUB-FAO-DUB.

Its a great use of the airframe during the peak season, Arrives in at 0500 from JFK/BOS/ORD. Heads to AGP/FAO at 0730, back at 1430 and out to JFK/BOS at 1600.

With lots of maintenance in between!

I was sure they did FAO on an A330 last year, can anyone confirm/deny this?

and will the new business seating be offered at the €60 premium here too does anyone know?

    Think it works like this:

Flex fare passengers will get business class first, then if there's remaining seats (usually is) they will be sold for €60. Give a call to Aer Lingus and ask them I'm sure they'll give you a more detailed answer.

Keep in mind it's regular short-haul economy catering, no big fancy meals.

Previously the seats up front are bookable, I think its a bit more than 60...think it was 75 per sector last year

Just looked about about 30pages of the original flight radar thread of times I wasn't participating for. 27/12/13 was certainly an interesting day!

Oh how I miss the winter time. Just watching a plane on FR24 go 2000ft, 1900ft, 1850ft, 2100ft 2400ft, gave an undescribable thrill.

Anyone remember what date that 8 planes in a row diverted to Shannon from Dublin? Any way I could get the Liveatc archive from back then?
