Where did Charles land? Was it by Helicopter or into NOC or Shannon?

RAF ZE-701 came in to SNN earlier I believe. I think he was on that.

You are right and correct, that was his flight. There are a few pictures up on a Facebook group I'm a member of.

Fitted with a range of counter measures. Have a look at the extra bits bolted on that are not standard on a 146.

Peculiarly, Westjet C-FWSK is just turning finals for 34 at Dublin as WJA4218. Some sort of extra service?

Noticed that myself, seemed unusual alright.

Is it this normal for planes to fly this close together / nearly cross paths with no vertical separation?

In the NAT system mimium trailing separation is five minutes where there is no vertical or horizontal distance separation.

It used to be 10 minutes or 60 nm but changed in the last couple of years. Pack 'em in tight!

Edit: apparently the five minute separation is still under trial ( search for ICAO RLongSM ) and Air France is one of the participants.

These aircraft are in domestic radar controlled airspace. If they were closer than 5 miles apart then it'd be something to get excited about, and has already been mentioned they are around 40NM apart.

    34 or 28? EDIT: Nevermind its 34.

When flying onto 16 they were landing with a 3kt tailwind, which probably isnt that favourable.

Looks like a bit of a traffic jam into Dublin. Some holding going on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,488 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

In DUB they are landing with a tailwind of up to 10kts. I can hear them commenting on it on ATC. Would they not just switch the runway?
