I heard there is just one final share exchange coming up when transferred to plc shares at today's prices could be worth 400 euro or more so l wouldn't sell just yet.

this would be great but will it happen have you a good sourse for this information anyone know how much co op are paying in dividend this year

This is what I was told from someone who was at the last share holders meeting.
That was proposed the downside is no more Kerry co op just Kerry group PLC which farmers won't have much say in
Todays PLC price is 67 euro and the usual exchange is 7 to 1 for old shares .
Can't say for certain what will happen but I'm holding mine for another year and see what happens.

    Yup.

There is a lot of pressure on the Board to approve a spin out in the Autumn from retired/nearly retired farmers, with milk prices going down there will probably be some spin out to get below 10% first and the rest in a short time frame.

Thinking of buying in. There has been about a €10 drop in sp value since April. I assume that was for no particular reason?

    Hi Paralysed.

Are you looking at buying Kerry Co Operative or Kerry Group PLC shares?

The Kerry co op shares are theoretically worth 6.12 times the Group share price... That's around €435 per share.
They trade at somewhere between 200-260 or so on a Grey market.

Kerry Groups Share price seem to be lower recently because of their dependency on Far Eastern revenue and UK revenue.
All these currencies have being tanking recently.

If you also look at Glanbia who has the majority of sales in Dollars, their share price hit a 12 month low today and are down around 20% from peak despite having very little Brexit or Far eastern currency risks.

Kerry Group and Glanbia both have great business models and over time one would hope and expect the share prices to rise again once the profit growth catches up to the steep rises in share prices over the last few years.

On Kerry co-op shares, which trade at half their true value, once they get over the disfunctional structures they have in place and the €1 million per annum they now spend on the 28 man board of a dormant company, these could be a cash cow in the coming year's .

Actually it was Kerry Group I was talking about. Didn't initially realise that the thread was about a different share.

I didn't think the Brexit would have such a big effect on share prices (I'm in Oxford pharmascience now!). It makes it quite hard to predict anything that trades in sterling for the next while. I'm hoping to invest in something over the next few months. Thinking maybe Ryanair or Irish Ferries. Both seem save and reliable.

I forgot about Glanbia though! Must keep an eye there.

Hmm, might keep an eye there too! But by the sound of it, it might be best to wait a while!

Watch out for Kerry Groups results on November 2nd.. I think they will be cautious over the currency risks but I thinks that's already baked into today's share price..
Fingers crossed they announce an Acquisition like these results last year.
This could be the badly needed catalyst for a share price revival.

Just wondering if the cash sitting in Kerry Co Op's bank account and coming in again on 18th November from Kerry Group dividend should be used to buyback Co op shares from fellas currently selling them at less than half their true value?

Looking at the numbers ballpark anyway Kerry Co op receive €12.5 million now from Kerry Group dividend each year.
This is growing around 10-11% each year.
After the directors pay themselves there is 11.5m left in the bank account.

This could be used to buy 27,000 shares each year at full book value and avoid having destressed farmers like myself having to sell off shares at less than half their true value.

They could also sell Group shares if they wanted due to more demand from shareholders for getting out of the co op.

What do people think? Does this make any sense?

Was offered shares today to buy at 200 a share .They seem to make 3 times plc price . Have you shares to sell Barry !

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 452 ✭✭BannerBarry

KerryCow... I would prefer to live in the slums and stay in debt than sell my co op shares at €200.
The shares are worth €426 per share today.
I will ride out the current storms out of pride than sell at prices below book value.

Would you sell at €200 per share?
Do you think a minimum share sell price should be set by the Kerry co op directors going forward so shareholders can get proper pricing for these shares?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭kerry cow

I don't think kerry board should get involved with the grey price but work towards a day of full conversion .
Some guys have to sell and that is life .like you I will soldier on for as long as possible paying my debts with the hope of never having to sell .
I suppose the buyer has to make a buck also and is speculating , if share go down , you won't be crying to give his money back .
selling at current price really is not a issue unless you got to .
Supply and demand with risks .
Fact is people are selling at 200€

Well said there banner, they'll always be a few vultures flying around for cheap share victims,I still think a full conversion and winding down of the investment vehicle of the coop would be final showdown for this

You are right. They co op can buy the milk processing at an inflated price from Kerry Agribusiness should they wish to do so.. would you be comfortable with the 28 Co op Directors you currently have running your milk processing and never making decisions?

Glanbia Co-Op sold their golden goose Plc shares to buy the milk processing from the PLC..... how did it work out for them getting a subsidised milk price from the co op to come up to Kerrys milk price for September!

Any one that's interested should pop over and see the previous thread on this issue that the two boys here, Barry and Fepper have on the go.

Major problem with Kerry shares I think it's called.

Great insight to what they think of the lads supplying milk to Kerry.
